ok i got aquestion about shipping...

i ordered halos a while ago, they came today, but they didnt. i got a note on my door from UPS saying "package was attemtped to deliver" and they checked off on the little slip they would try again tomorrow... but of course ill be at work.

on the online tracking thing the status was "tried to deleiver but customer had insufficient funds available" hah.

so if i leave a note on my door (where the original note was) saying please leave package on the side doorsteps do you think they will, or will they not leave the item without a payment? i owe 35 bucks for brokerage fees.

what should i do guyss/

You're gonna have to go to the ups depot and pay the brokerage fees before they will give it up. That is why I have all my stuff delivered to my office cuz we have a shipping dept, and I am there during the day.

When my dp came, I had to go down to shipping, sign for it, and I just gave them a check for the brokerage fees.

You have to pay the brokerage fees. I would just phone UPS and tell them not to deliver it and go pick it up from UPS just off of 32nd Ave.

Do you trust the neighbors? Maybe ask one of them that you know will be home and give them the money to pay for it and leave a note for the UPS guy to go to them.

Doubtful. In my experience they want the shippee to be present to receive the product, or pick it up at the delivery location.

This is why I would usually get the shipper to use usps, because there are typically more canada post outlets than ups and fedex, so you don't have to drive so far out of your way to pick it up. Canada post will also try to deliver once, and then by the time you get home, its already waiting at the closest drug store, convenience store or other place that has a canada post outlet.

well on the back of the slip there is a spot to sign if you want them to leave it, will as far as i understand thats what its for. they say nothing about paying though so what im doing is:

i left an envelope "ATTN UPS" taped to my front door. inside is a cheque made out to UPS for the brokerage fees. i left a note saying "please see attached cheque, i give you full permission to leave my package at the side door of my house. then i signed it. and at the bottom of my note i wrote "if there is any problems please call my cell phone 710 XXXX"

i think it will be fine.
