Edmonton Lightning Storm

enjoy!! a storm we had just last night out here. First try at lightning!

Lightning starts from the ground up for those that didn't know.

Nice pics. Last night was absurd down here, too. From like 9 till 2 it was CONSTANT lightning to the north and west. No rain or wind though. Very strange.

exactly the same, hence how its a 15 second exposure with no wind shake.. lol

I was on full zoom with a 250mm for some shots, at 100iso I had to shift to over 30seconds at the lowest f-stop so 200 and 15 worked. and over 30 seconds I have to be with the camera with a timer... this way I can lock the remote to continous and walk away.

awsome pics matt, wish i was able to capture those wild ones you see some times. but your comment on how lightning strikes is not exactly correct. it just appears to travel from ground up but it actually come from the sky downwards.
