guess how much a new headliner costs for the SS's

so saturday night i went to a hot tub party with a buddy of mine and as usual im DD. well as were leaving my buddy lights up a smoke and i think nothing of it until a few minutes later i notice a bunch of little ember's everywhere...i jolt my head and to my shock he had put his cigarette into my headliner. he said he was gonna pay for it but when he heard how much its gonna cost to replace it he said "HELL NO" those were his exact words.

so who wants to take a wild guess as too how much they cost before labour (retail, canadian$)

Wow Tell him u want him to pay for a custom made one from like fiberglass or pay for the recover ? I found this link earlier today and was thinking of using some of the tips included to make a custom headliner....

http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/how-...t=carbon+fiber

go to the fabric store, get some material, get some spray glue and do it yourself, a nice ultra suede will do it nicely.

oh i am royally pissed. but i don't want a little burn hole to ruin a 10 year friendship ya know. and the price of the headliner is $700 canadian before labour of the install. but ya my buddy is gonna pay to have this touch up stuff put on it until i can find a write off to steal one from and then im gonna have him pay for that one..it will be alot cheaper and will be brand new as well. well as brand new as you can get from a write off.

and im not making the same mistake with other friends so i've decided that from now on no one is aloud to smoke in my car except for me. atleast if i damage it, its my own damn fault and i don't have to worry about having other people bail because they don't want to pay the money for their mistakes.

I will gibe you some news to really **** you off. I work for a company that makes headliners. We do not make the headliner for the Cobalt though. The headliner itself, no head impact, wiring, etc. was probably sold to GM for about $50 American. With assembly, like wiring, head impact, and other things, the price probably jumped up to about $80-$90. I think someone has one hell of a mark up on it.

I always hated that. One of your friends screws up and really.. what can you do? especially if they are one of your best friends..

good luck getting a new liner.. if not, we'll peel one out of cobalt addicts or redsupercharged girls car when they arent looking and swap the two
