How To: Trunk Lock Invisible

Sorry guys I know you asked for this before - I tried posting a How To but either the mods deleted it or havent gotten round to auth'in it so I am posting it here for you gents.

--------------------------------------------

How To - cover your trunk lock - / make it seem invisible

Supplies:
Self adhesive Vinyl from Revy/Rona (10$ for a role that will allow you to do MILLIONS)
Exacto / Razor blade
a Toonie (as a guide)

STEP 1:

Take the toonie lay it on the back of the vinyl and trace round it with a sharpie - (this will give you the slight extra width to ensure it tucks nicely under the rubber seal)

STEP 2:

Cut out the circle line it up to make sure it you've cut in a proper circle (i did the first one and then realized i had knicked a small edge and it still showed silver)

STEP 3:

Install and vola your done...

--------------------

FINAL PRODUCT:

--------------------

FOR THOSE OF YOU WITH COLORS OTHER THAN BLACK:

Now I cant guarantee this will work but I've seen several people talk about it on the "Eye lid how to" Apparently you can buy white Vinyl and paint it with color match and it will work just as well.

If any local owners want this in black let me know and I'll bring a few down to Race City or up to Sylvan on the 12th when I'm back in town - like I said I have FOOT UPON FOOT of this vinyl left over after doing my tail lights...

Yeah I got no clue but I am assuming a quarter or 50 cent piece would work?

You crazy Kanadians using toonies. You name your currency after our cartoon characters

American guys, it is somewhere between a quarter or fifty cent piece. just go out and do a bunch and see what fits, as soon as one of you gets a good size reference post it up.

Nice How-to james...+ for you

Whenever I hear about your money I think of Robin Williams Live on Broadway.

"In Canada, how can you take a financial crisis seriously? Sir, the Looney is down! How can you say that without laughing?" lol

LoL I love the discussion this has sparked

Thanks for the + for the how to I was very suprised at how nice and clean it looks and the best part is that if it dulls or gets scratched etc well its pretty easy and cheap to fix... no need to repaint it if it were to get scratched :P

I've got a new Cheap How To that I'll Post tonight for tinting your interior lights - prolly been done before but hell I got Outtamymind on board with it last night so ^_^ its pretty cool.

Nice man, I can still see it though, I was thinking of taking my lock out and just spray painting with match paint in then reinstalling. Wintermod when I have nothing better to do.
