HPtune in calgary
Any one know of somebody or somewhere that can tune my 06 with 2.85 pulley in calgary? What is the general cost for this?
I was told Davenport. Has anyone had ther cobalt tuned by them.
Cheers

Sorry to go a bit off topic, but in your sig I see that you have your plugs at "40 gap". To me that seems a bit much. If you're not getting spark blowout at high rpm then that's great, but I though it should be more around the .030" range.
Like I said, not trying to knock what you've done, it's just something I noticed...

as much as i hate agreeing with sidejam, hes right. The gapping on your plugs should be in the .35 to .30 range.
Campbell automotive in edmonton is really good, but your looking at 300$ prolly for the dyno tune.
HOWEVER, you can run the 2.85 on the gm tune without issues, trust me, its a rich tune as it is, the extra 2 psi helps lean it back to reality, many run it, no issues.
i think sidejam runs a 2.9 off gm stage 1, 2.85 is next to nothing more.

Hmmm...I have them gaped to .40 only because thats what they are gapped to out of the box (actually .39) and the other reason is I was looking through Cobalt addction and they recommended (3 - 2.90" to 2.80" supercharger pulley - .040" gap).
Could you explain a little bit more on why I should be gapped between .35-.30?
What is spark blow out?
I am not sure what gap I should be at and for what reasons.
Thanks for the info. I was curious about the gap and I am allways interested in other opinions as I am new to the tuner game.
If Davenport is going to charge 500 and I assume the now there stuff, would it not be in our best intrest to have it done from a repitable shop and someone that knows what they are doing. (Just a thought)

I was going to attempt a brief write up of an explanation but much easier to just read this:

Hope that provides the explanation you're looking for.

The Uridium plugs are gaped to .38 and seem to be working great. I found this about them on ZZPerformace.
*
Chose stock heat range for cars with stock pulleys down to 3.2"
*
Choose one range colder for 3.0" pulley use.
*
Choose two ranges colder for 2.8" and below pulley sizes.
Iridium plugs cannot be gapped. The tip is too delicate for the gap to be changed. They come setup for high boost applications.

Personally, I'm not a fan of Iridium plugs except for the Denso Iridiums. With the NGK, only the tip is iridium and there have been cases where these tips have come apart. Imagine an iridium tip bouncing around in your combustion chamber!!! With the Denso's, the whole electrode is iridium, so it won't come apart. Unfotunately, the Denso's are about $20.00 each.
But, as I said before, whatever works for you. You can talk to ten different people and get ten different answers. If it's working for you, stick with it!
Just giving my 2 cents.
I'd love to see your SS at Race City this summer. Have you run before?

I did notice some carbon build up though with some risidual whitening.
The car seems to run fine right through the full power band with no problems.
