Price paid for your T/C new

I know right now their 29500 sticker with 5000 discount from gm,
so thats 24500 before whatever the dealer takes off,

I am just looking for what you guys paid for yours
please include sticker at the time and whatever gm discounts were given at the time
if you traded something in, pleas mention that too because i know sometimes dealers will
mess with the trade in price they give you, to give you the illusion of getting a deal

Not in Canada, they don't.

I paid about $25k for mine back in late 2008, the dealer got me an amazing deal.

I have found a few things on pricing on the turbo ss's but none in canada,

how is 25k an amazing deal?
24500 is what they go for now with no dealer discount

Price went up due to more standard options, new MSRP is 27,995 CAD

I payed 23,700 for mine, too much? Maybe.

Bought from Edwards Garage Oct 31 2009 Paid $29,679.95 Fully Loaded 1 of 1 rally yellow coupes built with all options in 09 accrding to GM even got the $35 ash tray package! Oh and the $39.95 Nitrogen tire fill option.... bastards, traded in 05 Mustang GT with too many aftermarket parts to list and 19,000kms on it they gave me $19000 for it, I gave them $2300 cash and drove away with my little yellow race car and a huge smile cause I could drive this one and if it broke gm paid the bill not me and no more rebuilding cheap ass ford diffs every 800kms or retuning the car everytime a cloud appeared in the sky!! And with GMS1 this fwd economy car is just as fast as the mustang was but has better brakes, better suspension and gets 3 times the mileage, that thing was the first and will def be the LAST ford I will ever own nicest looking pile of scrap metal I have ever owned but everytime I drove it it broke.

Apparently you didn't read what I wrote. I said in late 2008, when the vehicle was new and GM had no discounts on it in Canada whatsoever. I'd say $25k including PDI and taxes is a pretty solid deal.

I paid 22.5k OTD for mine. Dealer had it for 10 months. Had it in and out of the showroom 2 or 3 different times and was even in a commercial with Alexis Grace (chick from American Idol) and it still didn't sell til I picked it up in November.

since this is a Canadian price thread (which many seem to have missed), I'll chime in.

my car (like Turbo09's car) is a full load '09 Rally Yellow (Canadian) coupe;
  • Sunroof
  • LSD
  • RPD
  • High Rise (deleted 2nd quarter '09 model year(?))
  • XM radio
  • USB
  • Rally Yellow (deleted 3rd Quarter '09 model year(?))
MSRP: $29,605
paid: $21,498

I also bought mine at the end of February '10 ~ I have no doubt that was the main reason for my price.

I got my 2010 for 24k, sticker was 29k with the 5k off from GM. The only option was the high rise spoiler witch i didnt get... sunroof, XM and everything else was standard, even the rpd unit. So after the extended warrenty, taxes and all the other little charges it was just uner 28K Canadian.

you could not get the high rise for the 2010 model year - the high rise was dropped somewhere around the halfway mark through the 2009 model year... just an FYI;
all Canadian 2010 Cobalt SS's come with every (former) option - so there are no options.

haha the salesman offerd the highrise to me, but in his diffence it was also in the panflet he was showing us and it say 2010 on it. Either way I figured if I was gonna buy a spoiler I would put one on that all the other cobalts didnt have.

Mine had a sticker of 27,500, I got it for 22,700 USD

So I got about 5k off sticker:

1000 for paying cash
2000 for a rebate that the dealer was giving
and 2000 just what the dealer dropped

I'm only posting this because salesmen are sometimes flat out wrong, or can be misleading;
the high rise is still available, but it is now a GM accessory - if you look at all the Cobalt Regular Production Order codes, you should note that RPO "D81" is missing from the 2010 model year codes - I used to have a link spelling it out when it was dropped, but can't find it right now.
LINK
Also, if you were going time & again to "build" a Cobalt on GM's site, you would have noticed that still during the 2009 model year the high rise was removed from the option list...

if you don't believe me after that, I won't reply - but I have zero reason to lie to you...
I just figured if ever the situation came up, I didn't want you to look like an idiot for suggesting an option which didn't exist was the only one missing from your car.
