ah I see. Try lowering your tire pressure next time. I ran 25lbs and it seemed to help a bit.

Maybe the 18's are slowed your car down.

so here are my time slips.

my last run i completely missed second hence my 17.7 second time. but oh well im just glad to know that i've been improving on my shifting and that i got back into the 16's. and yes the second run was me the stupid tower read my number wrong and put me as 138 rather then my 438. and not to mention it didn't even register a 330 for me on that run.

your 2nd run got the best 60ft...but then somehow ended up the same. Keep trying ....but don't miss 2nd again!

if you want to directly compare slips here my best stock and best with SRI (both around 4800-5000ft) DA

My best 60' on street tires is a 2.164. That's the key to making these cars go fast. If you have a crappy 60', it doesn't matter how much power you make, you'll never get a really good time.

I MIGHT come out on the 21st, but they are calling for a lot of rain this week...

i dont see why the 18s would slow me down, they are lighter then the stock rim/tire package...
i have a 4.xx 60' on my redlight...haha!! and still ran an 18.00... thats why i say i had a good launch.. cuz i redlighted.. stopped... then launched... now if i minused then 1.5/1.6 to get me to a REAL 60' i woulda ran a 16.5.. BUT NO!!! that ******* tool saw me creeping and waited to hit the button! *CUSSING*

wheel weight is an issue for sure but your forgetting about the overall tire/rim diameter...that can effectively change your gearing?

What sized tires do you have?

Also the R/T has ZERO to with your 1/4 mile ET and speed. The clock does not start until your car moves forward and breaks the beam.

The rains over by wednesday, fasr as I can tell. Only a few more weeks of racing this year....

It's sad that your mistaking advice for critisim

And talking alot is bad?

Hey I am just offering my advice and opinions. I know exactly what it's like to race one of these cars. FWD manuals are a bitch to launch and the wheelhop worsens matters.

I bet way over half of all the Cobalts I see are ruinnning far slower then they should because it's the driver. I encourage them to practice--I want to see the timeslips to analyse them.

I must have done 40 passes on my old 5 speed 2.4L--and I missed 2nd gear a good 7-8 times--I am not saying I am perfect by any means. But I do have far more experince then almost anyone who goest to Race City off this board--I started back in '92

Look back in my posts, I wished people luck. No one has taken offence except for you.

I'd appreciate a critic on my style if your willing to meet up and go for a drive, as I've said before I've not owned a performance car before and this was my 2nd time racing so any advice etc would really be appreciated. PM me if you willing to teach

i made sure the rim/tire diameter was as close as possible.. i think im only off by 1.5% or soemthing... nothing huge....

they are 225/40r18... i believe...

i know the r/t has nothing to do with it.

thats the thing.. my car broke the beam... and clock started..hence teh 18.xx...

ill be there.. cuz im pissed off

ah Ok I see what you mean now. I have gotten messed up at the tree a few times Some times my fault...sometimes not.

Thats what I dislike about Race City--when it's super busy you spend all night in line for a handful of passes. And if you make one little mistake you run goes down the tubes.

Yeah your speedos only off 0.8%---not enough to matter.

Hey do you know what your RPO sticker is? If you do find it--I am curious as to what suspnesion code you have...it will start like this FE_ ----I need to know whats after the E.

Well I can go for pass down the 1/4 with you---I have a helmet and can ride shotgun. You should also talk to Cody and Ed (Silver ION RL) Those guys are top notch

I have very limited exp driving a S/C car but the fundamentals are the same as any other car--the Cobalt just has a few quirks.
