S'toon meet before the snow?

So... anyone is S'toon want to meet up again before the snow flies?

I'm thinking either Monday Oct 8th (thanksgiving day) or Tuesday Oct 9th, in the evening of course.

If anyone has a better idea for a date, post it up.

----------------------------------------------------------
Monday Oct 8th
8PM at the same Timmy's location... 8th St. Mall
Lets try to park a bit further out this time....

I would have said Saturday or Sunday, but I think a few people might be leaving town due to the long weekend.

I'll have to wait and see myself. Might be heading out to Calgary or polishing the engine/supercharger that weekend.

Wow, just checked the price on a gasket for the supercharger. My cost is $55! There is nothing to the damn thing! How can it be that much? On second thought, maybe I won't polish 'er up for that price.

.... and why do you want to replace the gasket?
It's re-useable a few times.

Brock said when he took his off to put on his pulley then put it back on, he figures he has been losing boost ever since. Maybe i'll just wait til i get a pulley and do everything at once.

I had the same issue. Ended up having to take mine off and straightening it and cleaning it really well. Are you sure you are looking up the right Gasket?! I'm pretty sure it's around 18 bucks?

I have a whole polish pack if you want it for a weekend or something. It has 3 whels, 3 buff *****, and a few felt tips. If you think your going to use it alot, you can buy them at Princess Auto for about $30. I suggest a light wire brushing first to take down the roughness followed by a light sanding, before you polish.
I only used the rough polish for now, so the blower is shinny but still has some brush marks from the prep job. When I do my dual pass I'll buff the hell out of it and finish the job.
Also, when the blower is off, look down the intake tube before the rotors, I noticed that mine has some cast slag left in it from factory.... a potential disaster in the making. I ground that crap off, took down the intake lip, and polished it inside. It seems to whine a bit more since. (I'm just guessing, but I can actually hear the whine again.... fuking catless exhausts!)
As far as boot leak, I haven't seen by gauge seeping at all, but then again I haven't had a chance to log anything. I guess I'll have to nab a logging scanner from work and check it out.
I think it's just that I was very careful removing the blower. I took extra precautions as to not scrape or bend the gasket. I wasn't going to spend the cash on the gasket when I know that I'm pulling the SC again in a few weeks.

Good to know. Boost leak might not be such a bad thing for winter driving anyways. I was hoping to put on a pulley too but i'm sure my IDC would sky rocket with our -30 temperatures around here. Oh well, guess i'll just have to save up and buy some injectors.

That was probably me or Mike. We both had the same issues with our gaskets leaking a bit. He ordered a new gasket I just fixed mine.

I thought I rememebered you saying it was cheaper but I didn't want to say anything just in case. My advice especially when dealing with the dealerships around here.... don't even bother trying to order anything through them. SMP has been pretty good to me but the other dealerships all want to rip me off on everything they can. There's also this avenue... http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...-P1656C41.aspx little bit cheaper with our exchange where it is right now i guess.
