A Ticket - Lack Of Professionalism
A Ticket - Lack Of Professionalism
Thought I'd vent about a lack of professionalism. I recently got pulled over for having window tint and received the ticket below. I don't contest the charge, what I contest is the lack of professionalism. If I did my logbooks and other aircraft paperwork the way he wrote the ticket, I would be facing fines in the four digit range for the first offense.

Now, let's have a closer look at this ticket besides the fact that it's horrible scribbled in PENCIL...

1. The officer indicates I have violated section 113, let's see what that is...
I was not on a highway, I was on a city street.
2. The officer also indicates that I have violated section 66 (3), let's see what that is...
3. It is unclear whether I was charged with speeding or not (it was not indicated initially when I was pulled over, but it is on the ticket).
4. His writing is abismal at best, but here is what I can figure out...
"Unlawfully having sunscreen on front side windows
Being that I'm a visual person, I did a google image search to see if I could find a clarification for the term "sunscreen" and this is what I came up with...

Well it's obvious he is referring to the window tint on the front side windows. I'm just making fun of his choice of words. My whole point is that his writting is abismal at best and he quoted me on violating the wrong laws.
Highway same as city street as far as the traffic act is concerned.
That being said, this constable should be sent back to grade 2 - I have seen prescriptions more legible than that f$^#ed up mess he wrote. That alone should be grounds for tossing it.
If you can arrange it, go see the prosecutors office before the trial date, odds are they tear it up right then and there
If they don't, go to court and see if the judge can make sense out of those chicken scratchs.....

I really hope you contest this Ryan. Even if just for the sake of putting an unprofessional boob in his place. There are enough cops in Western Canada that should not be, and its about time we started taking a stand. I don't know if its as bad in Sask, but in Alberta, they have actually started taking anyone they can get. This can be seen blatantly by their hiring motto: "You already have what it takes". And this is why we have a bunch of pompous muscle heads in uniform more interested in feeling powerful rather than actually servicing the community and enforcing the law.
Do everyone a favor and take this dumbshit down. Being a police officer doesn't mean you don't have to be held accountable.

I think I will take this to his boss, it's not necessarily the ticket I'm trying to get out of (all though I wouldnt complain if I did), I was in the wrong with the window tint. It's the fact a 10 year old could do the same job for waaaay cheaper.

****** rights man. I've had enough of CPS as it is. Regular people are bad enough, and they take any 20 something off the street and give them freedom to do whatever they want.
I think that this somewhat shows its not a whole lot different in sask.
