Alright I have my eyes set on one of the following 3:

1.) Injen CAI - Better throttle response, makes the car louder (woot ), better gas mileagge, and a tad bit more hp.

2.) Stage 1 Kit - cant afford the stage 2 just yet (least probably not till next year). Probably best HP for the $$$ out of any mods (Short of, as i said, stage 2).

3.) Ingalls engine Damper & Short throw Shifter - Makes the ride more "comfortable" with faster shifts and get rid of that dastardly wheel hop.

I know #1 and 3 people can probably help me install it (Free case of beer to whoever does lol) but #2 i'll do through dealership.

Any thoughts? Suggestions? Comments? (And not "NOT ANOTHER ONE OF DEEZ TREADS DUURRRR" lol)

I would suggest Stage 1 out of those three.

But the supportive mods make the extra difference
while you are building up your car soo...

If your planning on staying with warrenty then wait till you can afford stage 2, don't buy stage 1 just to have to go out and spend more money to upgrade to stage 2. Where are you getting it from, i got my old one from crateenginedepot.com. You might be able to afford stage 2 from them.

If your not planning on staying with warrenty, don't bother with the stage kits and buy a pulley, injectors and a tune. It will be heaper and will free up alot more power. Joe lives in Lethbridge and i think he goes to Calgary fairly often and i am sure if you asked him nicely he could help you out.

My pick if you can't get the stage 2 kit yet would be to get the CAI, let her whine.

thx for the feedback!

can i buy a stage kit elsewhere (enginecratedepot, cobalt addiction etc) and take it to a GM dealer and get it installed and have them cover it? Or will they be pissy and be like "Blar! who sold you this!" ?

If your going to do supporting mods go with a solid mount, my ingals bent with just stage 2. Alot of companies make solid mounts with different stiffnesses for a resonable price. But if its 1 thing i learned modding this car is do it right the first time, you spend way to much in the long run if you don't

I installed mine myself and limped it to the dealership and had them do the reflash. It shouldn't be a problem unless your dealer is going to be a *****. Phone ahead and see which one will do it no porblems. I am lucky, my dealer supports my bad habbit lol

U gotta increase the air flow first. From stock it's way too restricted. I have the Injen CAI, and it adds more than a "few" HP. About 15. Exhaust next. Borla will give u about another 12 HP. It won't do much good to have a stage 2 if u can't get the air in/out faster. I'm getting the Borla next, then I'm goin' straight to a 2.4" pulley w/ 60#/hr. Siemens fuel injectors. A friend of mine has ALL of these mods plus more that i'm not gonna get into. His car shows almost 300 HP on the dyno.

Definitely get the Injen intake first. Save ur cash up and get stage 2, dont even bother with the stage 1 upgrade. If u add up all the cash it will cost u to go stage 2 after, it's so much more... plus the cost on labour. Anyways Just dont worry to much about the torque dampner, or any thing else. If u have g85, you will notice lots more traction when you install the stage 2. The ECU is like programmed abit better and runs much more smoother all the way up to 7000rmp. After the injen...and after the stage 2, get more air flow. get a exhaust then work on traction. Springs torque dampner...and all those goodies.

My thought was to always "let her breathe". I'm personally gonna go with exhaust and cai first, then get stage 2. But I suppose its up to you!

You do know GM sells a stage 1 upgrade kit that makes it a stage 2 right?

Anyway if it was me I'd do the intake and save the rest of the cash for the stage 2.

stage 1!!!! then you can get a 2.85 pulley and a stage 2 belt and have more hp then the stage 2 for almost half the price. Buy a filter for llike 25 dollars and do the air box mod. Then save up for the rest

I would say to save up for the Stage 2 kit if your wanting to keep your warranty. If warranty is not an issue, then make your own "kit" by buying a pulley, injectors, tune, etc. If your going to try and keep your warranty, then go with the CAI first, the Ingalls second, and the Stage 2 last out of those three. An exhaust will also be greatly beneficial with the added kit.

If your going to do something that is going to potentially void your warrenty you might as well just go out and buy a Tag/CA/Intense kit. Would cost you around the same amount and be properly tuned
