The Balts with the same turbo engine are running almost a second faster in the 1/4 mile! I just read an article that one went 13.9@103 stock! What did you think of the no shift lift feature? and the launch control feature?
I was reading in another post a stock HHR SS/TC dyno'd in the 240+whp range stock! Than a hand held tuner was installed and it jumped to over 270+whp...stock intake, exhaust, intercooler..only change was the tune!
Thas pretty impressive!!

I have a year left to decide, do i want to trade in and get the ss/tc, or do I want to keep the ss/sc and put the tvs or twincharge it. Decisions decisions...

I test drove it tonight after work, got to get on it to see what it had. I would say that it is on par with a Stage 2 Balt in terms of acceleration, but the sensation is totally different from my SS/SC, there is definatly lag with the turbo but once it spools the acceleration is good, I hit the rev limiter a few times as I am used to my 7100rpm rev limiter, the turbo balt is set @ 6500rpm. The steering is much better with the faster steering ratio, the handling is F$^$ FANTASTIC!!! It would definatly out handle my lowered SS/SC in the twisty's or on a track! The same goes for the brakes, they are awesome. I thought that the old SS/SC had good brakes, they are better than my slotted/drilled and hawk HPS pad set up for sure.
You can here the turbo spool when on the gas but hard to hear a typical BOV sound when getting off it!
The no shift lift is almost manditory when on the gas hard becuase if not there is a definate lag when shifting, like a bog! I didnt get a chance to use the launch control!....The wheel hop us SS/SC guys are used to is eliminated in the new suspension setup.
The seats are IMO nicer than the Recaros us SS/SC guys have, the seats offer just as much lateral support and the red inserts on the black seats look badass!
Overall in terms of my car vs the new SS/TC.....I definatly have it in acceleration, i would have been disappointed if a bone stock SS/TC was faster after the money I have put in mods, but saying that, you stage 2 guys should be careful it is a really close race. I think the new car is a definate improvment over the old SS/SC.
pros
Awesome handling
Awesome brakes
No wheel Hop
Launch Control & No Shift lift are cool
Seats are great
Rims are nicer
Good power once turbo is spooled
Cons
Not any faster than a stage 2 balt
No BOV sound ( a little but hard to hear)
Turbo is to quiet
Turbo lag
Bogs between shifts if not using "No shift Lift"
engine compartment looks like crap
All in all I give it a 4.5/5 rating!........a fantastic car for the money...just needs a few mods to tweak it for the best!
