Okay, i want to have a huge cruise. one where people from all over have to travel to..
this should be a weekend cruise if you ask me.
this is what i have in mind.
Meet in Amherst or Oxford or somewhere close to there and travel to 5 islands.
i dunno if anyone has ever been there, but the last time i was i was like 6yrs old.
its a historic place, and theres a plaque that you can read telling you about how 5 islands was formed...
as for roads out there i have no sweet clue what they are like, but more then likely not the best. but come on dont let thats hold you back.
the reason why im starting this post is for those who are intrested leave your comment on it. remember we will more then likely need a hotel. i would say we can crash at my cottege, but.. its 150 yrs old and ya.. lol but we could camp out?
this is the idea for it.
Meet up and head for a cruise into 5 islands, then spend the day out there chilling chatting up and what not. go to a camp ground or something and get liquored up or just hang out till the late night and then sleep, wake up for a decent time and everyone go for lunch.
if we are close to springhill maybe go and tour a mine.. anyone do that? its SO COOL!
then have our own cruise home.
now with this i would like to see people from all over the maritimes come, like NS, NB, PEI, NFLD and so on. so thats why im starting this to see who will wanna come and how big we can get this.

Those of you from NS and wanna go would you wanna take the cobiquid pass thru the mountain, or go the old way thru wentworth

I think it's off the old Glooscap highway between Amherst and Truro... correct me if I'm wrong

 

so how far exactly from moncton? im all for camping im just trying to figure out cost of fuel and such

 

well take your cost of fuel and double it for me lol

 

well I dunno I can get 1200 km's out of a tank of fuel highway

 

i average 500 km on a tank ... but thats highway and city

 

and also the fact that you live 90mins further up north than we do. makes it a longer drive for you

Okay i was just talking to mom, this is a long ass drive okay, so thats why theres no date set. im gonna start a list of those who are coming and posting this on other sites too, all cars of all makes are welcomed, just gonna try to keep all the cobalts together all the pontiacs together and so on.
sence we will be meeting in Amherst we will be taking the back road between amherst and springhill, then head out lemington to parsbro, then when you see the large goosecap indian we take a left and head towards halifax and then we will see 5 islands.
theres a camp ground out there called Sand point camp ground.
this trip will take us right pass my cottege and if we wanted to camp out there we can, unforunitly my mom doesnt want 100 people in the cottege sense its my great grand mothers house and the age of it.
im gonna look up a map here in a second.

 

a map and such of where we would be going would be great cause im interested in it I just need to figure out what its going to cost me fuel/food and etc

just added it up about 260 kms ish round trip for me (quarter of a tank lol) so im up for it now I just need the date to save the money.

is the camping free? seeing as its on your land and such?

Depends on if we all wanna stay there or not, the only issue with staying there is that right across the road is the spinghill prison, anyone feel un easy about that? lol.
i wanna know what everyone thinks about things too.
Im thinking meet in Amherst for 10AM that way we all can to to tour a mine on the way out..
that would mean we need to leave Sackville at 8am no later. so meeting time for people down in HRM would be 7:30am.
Meet time in Truro for those people would be 9am and it will be at the irving off the highway.
As for those down in the valley and digby way i would hope you make your own meet place, and drive up or whatever.
meet place for us in sackville, bedford, darthmouth, halifax and those traveling up will be Wheatons in Lower Sackville.

heres a list of things and i want people to let me know what they think of them.
The Date: Saturday July 18th 2009, or Saturday August 8th 2009
Rain Date: Saturday July 25 2009, or Saturday August 15th 2009 - Rain date be the fallowing week of the set date.

Go to Sprinhill Tour a Mine, or not - this would set the time we need to met up at.
Rent camping spots where we can have a fire or something, or my cottege front/side lawn lol

Anything else, chuck it out there.

 

sounds all good ... i like the camping out ... lol ... i'll see if i can get some buddies to come up ... the NB guys ...we'll probably meet up in Moncton ... and go from there

 

i will leave the NB meeting spot up to who ever wants to make it.
Also be awesome if anyone from Maine came up or other parts of canada... but doubt that would lol

 

im all for those dates and rain dates. maybe renting a camp ground split the cost between us all would work best as im sure its not gonna cost an arm and a leg lol.

dunno how many people out of moncton there will be but how does DQ on elmwood sound (right off the highway) for the meeting spot?

 

if there will be a BIG turn out for this i maybe interested in this

 

camping is awesome. you get drunk with friends, cook food over an open fire and no civilization and/or no electronics

 

someone bring a battery pack or booster cables incase we kill one of the cars due to the music lol

 

ever since i installed my Amp/Sub ... i never leave home without my Booster Cables / Booster Pack lol
