has anyone on here from the maritimes ordered rims and or tires from tirerack? I'm just wondering how much duty they slap on the orders when they hit the canada/us border....

also, what are you supposed to do if you get shipped a bad tire? my buddy got tires for his civic one day and 3 of the 4 new tires were faulty, and the belts broke in 2 weeks. if you get a bad or defective tire from tirerack, what are you supposed to do? just suck it up and buy another? anyhow , just looking for some input.

I believe if u buy the wanenty on the tires u ship it back to them..but the duty they charge u before they leave the plant from what I understand and put it all into Cdn dollars

chad463 02-14-2009 07:49 PM

if its broken do you have to pay the shipping back?

boez06 02-14-2009 07:50 PM

Are you installing the 40's on the stock rims? If not, what is the width of your aftermarket rims? Just curious as I was debating purchasing the Potenza RE01-As or the Dunlop Z1's in that size.

CobaltSC06 02-15-2009 12:12 AM

I installed 40s on the stock gunmetal rims with no problem

Platinum_Injected 02-15-2009 04:27 PM

what brand of tires did you get locally for $440? new, used?

CobaltSC06 02-15-2009 06:02 PM

I'd like to know too... I just spent 900$ on my new summer rubbers last year, and that was WITH a discount from a friend of mine who sold me the set lol

The best tires I could get and still spend under $200 a tire were General Exclaim UHP. So far they have been great, I don't ride the car hard, so they do the trick... good in the rain and low noise.

pykie 02-15-2009 06:55 PM

i paid like 350 for my 4 tires that are 225/40/17, and i paid 300 for my old 225/50/17
just gotta know the right people
