stolen car alert
http://www.bcgme.ca/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3731
this is a bcgme members car that was stolen today. its a 96 cavalier licence number 905 ALS. it was taken this morning from the owners driveway and i spotted it around 3:30pm on 200th near logan ave. in langley.

if spotted please call the police.
normally i wouldnt post a thread like this but this is about the oldest car in the local j-body community and would be a shame to lose. it was built by c24s/c, he owned and built this car before buying the cobalt i now own.

Here is the description from the owner:
it's a Black cavi, dual magnaflow exhaust, with a VIS drift kit.
Enkei RPM2 gunnmetal wheels, shorty antenna, with DC2 seats inside.
the front bumper and left fender's got damage on it. There's a square hole in the center of the bumper. There's also a black spiderman toy hanging from the mirror, if that helps.

I ecountered this problem once.
A guy or a crew stole my buddies civic from westwood plateau once.
As we were talking to the cops the car came driving by.(it was a signiture of this crew to return the car to where they found it)
WE all cop included jumped into our cars and chased him. We boxed him in at Burger King where he ran over the curb at full speed and gave us the slip after that. The chase cauzed more damage to the car then the actual theft did.
ICBC being the jerks that they are didn't fix half the damage on the car. It was never right again after that.
So why not chase the car? Cause they will destroy it trying to get away from you and then even if they don't during the chase they will after just cause you pissed them off.
BTW- If this car is driving around then chances are they have a copy of the key or the master key for the cavaliers. (no one is dumb enough to drive around that much with the ignition hanging out, and the door locks poped out) There were a bunch of guys around here a few years ago that had the nisan master keys and stole every 240sx they could get there hands on.
If I'm not mistaken the cavi's have transponder keys like ours so justy a copy wouldn't get it done, it smells kinda fishy to me....inside job????

highly doubt its an inside job, the guy loves the car. the j-bodies have passlock 2 system, however if the car has a remote start the system gets bypassed. im not sure if it has a remote start or not. as for not following the car, i saw it before i knew it was stolen and i was at work. i know nate spotted it a couple times, however if you have your wife and young kid in the car, would you go chasing after a car thief???
