Redline Goods Shift Boot
This will be a quick short review of the Redline Goods leather shift boot for my 2009 Cobalt SS.
Shipping was fairly quick take into account it was coming from overseas.
It is genuine leather. The first sign of that is the smell when you open the package. Very nice :-)
The install was fairly easy as well after you get the darn shifter knob off... This may help someone in the future when removing their shift knob, but when you removed the shifter diagram cover, take the screw out and then get the old boot and ring popped out from the console try pulling up on the boot it's self, after prying with a flat head forever I finally got so frustrated that I yanked really hard on the old boot and the knob popped right off... Who knows if I loosened it or not, but I thought it might help someone else.
Now for installing the new boot. What I did was remove all the staples from the shift boot mounting ring and slide my new boot onto the ring. I then actually sewed it onto the ring through the staple holes and it worked quite well.
In all it took me about an hour from start to finish and I must say that the look and quality of the boot is second to none.
If you are looking for a really good leather boot to replace the crappy synthetic one Chevy puts on these things I recommend the one Redline goods offers.
