Zzp lnf fuel filter kit review!
purchased ZZP's LNF fuel filter kit a couple of weeks ago and saw this section of the site and thought I should post this. First of all, I found out that GM went el cheapo on these GDI Turbo cars and didnt even put a filter between the tank and the delicate HPFP (pther than the sock on the pick-up in the tank) !!! So IMHO this is a no-brainer to me! As far as the quality of the kit goes, I have to say that it exceeded my expectations for the price. The OTTP kit is more than double the price of the ZZP kit. And, it came with acceptable stainless hardware, and what seems to be a very good quality QD line to go from the filter to the pump. The bracket that was provided was powder coated black and the filter itself is sevicable and looks pretty dang sweet as well. The billet flter housing is defintely a solid unit. There is really nothing to complain about with this product. Personally, I got a little paranoid about the way the stock fuel line had to be re-routed so close to the turbo heat shield, so I spent $20 on the silver heat sheilding for lines at Oreillys and slid ot over the fuel line all the way back as far as it would go to protect the line from heat and possible abrasion from the turbo heat shield. This probably isnt necessary, but its a fuel line, so better safe than sorry. The other thing I did was went to the hardware store and got 4 M6 locking nuts to reolace the regular nuts that they sent with the kit for an extra $6. Probably not necessary either. Overall, I highly recommend this product from ZZP. It is a LOT cheaper than running debris through your fuel system. Plus, it looks like it is worth at least 10whp!
