Up For Official Sale is my 2006 Cobalt SS. currently sits at 142k Miles. Sunburst orange metallic in color. All original exterior except no front lip. Its never had one for the entire duration of me owning it. Ive never received, nor have I done a carfax on this car. Altho I do have the VIN if anyone wishes to do so. I love this car, and have spent plenty of time on it making it fun, and easy on the eyes, to some degree. As most of you know, it does have an issue with the trans. I still have no clue as to the issue. Im going with a simple trans swap and you'll have a great car. My plan if it doesnt sell, is to put a non lsd trans in it. Just the cheapest route for me. Of course if possible, i may put my lsd in the non lsd trans and go from there. But thats a different story. Ive owned it since last year, and only put about 10k miles on it. And this is obviously a G85 car. Has Onstar capability, hi rise wing, factory lsj wheel dipped black.

There WAS a newish clutch/pressure plate in the trans. Along with a new TOB, OEM flywheel, and bolts. I dont know how well any of that is right now tho.

Under its current condition, and the fact that a trans replacement for this car would only run around $400, then labor depending on if you can do it yourself, which some on here can, Im asking for $4000. Yeah Im sure thats way too much. But in my eyes, if you have the money for this car, and the $400 for a trans (which ive also priced at $300), you can have a nice running car for a good price.

If you wanna post about oh this car isnt worth it, or anything negative, you will be reported. Im not posting this car to hear negative crap. I really dont want to part ways with it, but Ive hit every financial resource I can, and i cant afford to fix it. At least not for a few months, of that Im sure. and If someone wants it, i will sell it. If not i guess it will just sit where she is until then. And now, on to pics! I will post ALL of my old pics. And if there is an issue with no date/name in the pics I will deal with it. But since Ive posted all these pics before, and most know this IS MY car, i dont see the problem with it. A few members have even seen it in person. Hell i think im the only Sunburst w.o a lip lol.

What happened with the trans?

 

I dont have a definite answer to that. the trans has to be dropped and opened up to know for sure. what I do know is that its leaking what looks to be trans fluid, but there are no exterior cracks to be found.

never got the tvs put on??

 

Hmm. Does it not go thru the gears? U could of cracked 3rd and those are noticeable inside the housing.

 

no I never got the tvs. this trans issue happened and caused me to stop trying for it.

and itll go thru the gears. both on and off. I actually drove it across town a while back. thats when it started leaking the fluid. it was hard getting it in gears but it did go.

If you have a tvs, why not sell it, and get a replacement tranny? Do the labor yourself, ive done one myself, isn't that hard to do.

 

dont have the tvs. and I dont have the tools/setup to do it. ive thought about it already.

yeah. but sale or not im still saving money when I can for it.

 

some constructive criticism, get some better pics, some of the actual car while it's not taken apart or dirty. And don't include pics of other cobalts that look nicer than yours. Taking a pic 2 inches away from the headlight isn't really all that useful.

 

I used the pics I had. my cell likes to delete everything on my memory card at random. it was taken apart at different things having different things done to it. the other pics were hanging out with friends. ya know like normal people do. and the headlight shot was the best pic of my headlights there are. they came on the car and they aint that great.
