2006 Saturn ION Redline FRESH built motor, $6k+ in Upgrades!
Here the rundown, Bought the car in November of last year(2009) with 36k Miles. Thermostat was bad in Jan. 2010 and replaced it. I did not refill the coolant correctly and it overheated. Started burning coolant after that and ran it for 2 months. I decided to rebuild it in March 2010 with the intentions of keeping the car for a while and not wanting any future issues. So I built it all out. I have receipts for about $5k worth of upgrades bought since March 2010. Finished building it 9/12/2010 and have most all receipts and full pictures of the build. During the build all new bearings, seals, gaskets, water pump, etc were used. It’s basically a BRAND New motor. Currently has 44k on it and I have put 3500 miles on it since the build was completed. This car has some MAJOR potential for those that know how to get it done! i.e. Turbo or Twincharged
List of Upgrades:
- NEW Ray Bates Sleeved and Studded bottom end Block $2000
- NEW Diamond 10:1 Forged Pistons w/ Teflon coated Skirts $600
- NEW ARP Headstuds $100
- Ported/Polished Head
- NEW Supertech 72lb Valve Springs $350
- NEW Supertech Valves $350
- Full head job (Surfaced, vac tested,etc.)
- Full balanced rotating assy. $200
- GM Stage 2 Kit
- ZZP Mid-length Header/Downpipe setup $375
- NEW Magnaflow Catback system $400
- Ingalls Stiffy Torque Dampner(motor mount) $100
- NEW ZZP FMHE with Dual Pass and Option B $300

The car is stock visually. It has the Competition Package with the limited slip Torsen style Differential, gunmetal wheels and the ladder tach/Boost gauge. It also has stock Recaro Racing seats.
The car also has a Brand New Fuel pump, there is a recall for it but my car did not fall in the VIN set for the recall to be completed on. A complaint has been filed on that issue.
Car has the usual options:
- Sunroof
- Onstar
- Power windows/locks
- Keyless
The only thing that I know of that is wrong with the car is the cruise control doesn’t work. I’ve replaced several parts and will work intermittently, still working on that issue.
The pictures of the car has the car has the high spoiler on it and a low OEM spoiler has since been put on it instead. The rack that’s on it probably will not come with the car unless you want it, but the bike rack with defiantly not go with it.
I know what KBB is but I’m asking $12k…price is fairly firm but feel free to shoot me an offer
Only thing the car needs is a good tune. I dyno’d it before I rebuilt it and after I ran it hot and it dyno’d 230hp at the wheels!
I can work on the price but the lower you want it the more parts come off it and stock parts go back on.

I Just put a new set/resume switch in it and it still wont work. The on/off switch does light up like its suppose to tho..

Nice rack isnt it? I love the rack but the car is so clean without it!
