I just read through this again and noticed your in the navy... as am I. That sucks about your shoulder. I'm having career issues as well. This new PTS system sucks too. 7 years in and E-5 facing possibly getting PTS'd out. No NJP or any evals less then a 3.9 MP, or failed or med exempt PRTs.

only conversion choice I have is CT. I'm an AM, I don't even know what a CT really does beside cypher codes, but i know its not for me.

I'm getting ready to get out myself. You can use the post 911 Gi bill. I hope you singed up for before hand. Cuz if you don't you wont get it. If you paid for the pre 911 Gi bill. then its a must to apply for the new one. On top of that in order to use the full benifits of the post 911. You preatty much have to be a full time student. I for got what revision of the GI bill they are on now. Much luck to you brother. Sorry to here you are leaving the ranks like that. Just remember though. Once you are military you will always be a brother. I f you need help. Just chime in on the forum. I'm sure one of us will help you out with some advise if need be.

 

IS is preaty open too. My brother in law just cross rated. I'm going MA myself. We were both HTs. The navy is really tightning down on us.

 

thanks man, ive done 3 years now, and i paid for the MGI Bill going to do Post 9-11 though for sure, but i appreciate your concern and i will for sure be around bro

 

yeah, well PTS is the ultimate **** you to service members. i see so many people getting booted out that are workers and know their **** and yet see these worthless sacks of **** sitting there collecting a paycheck and not contributing anything...

and the cherry on top is this recent "pay freeze" fiasco and now retirement issue...

let me tell you if they take away retirement and dont grandfather people who are already signed up you will see alot of people "jump ship" and then they will be hurting for people.
