Engaged... Must sell Cobalt!! Please help!

Its time to sell the Cobalt! I was recently engaged and its time to start thinking about the future... and I dont need a sporty car anymore. I love it, but I need to have a "family" car. Gross!!

I have some recent updates that are not shown from the pictures because, well, honestly, Im to busy with work to find any time to take daytime pictures. I work 6 days a week for Cingular and have no time at all.

Exterior:

-Tint all the way around. 30% on passenger and driver side windows. Limo the back corners and rear window.
-Debadged. "SS" symbols moved to rear middle above key lock and on front grill.
-NGA Halo-Projectors.

Interior:

-Nothing except audio equipment. Alpine amp for front speakers and tweeters. JL Audio 2 tier component set. (Paid $800 for the speakers themselves, so they are good quality).
-Premier deck. Auto faceplate with multi color settings for different interior colors. 45x4 watt channels. Stock sub still there, but all 4 channels control sub. (Car Toys installation, so its done by pros.)

Engine:

Not to much at all. Fujita CAI. NGK Spark plugs gapped at .28. (It feels like a much better ride than the stock plugs.) All oil changes done 500 miles before due time. Scheduled maintenance done on GM's "Proper Car Maintenance Guide." OBX exhaust. Not system, but muffler... I think it sounds excellent, and so does anyone that hears it.

Car care:

I have only used the best products for cleaning the car. I dont think I have missed a Sunday washing since Ive had the car. Ive never had the car through an automated car wash. (To damaging chemicals used.) I use Meguires only. Car was was applied regularly. I have used the entire Meguires waxing system from Paint Cleaner, Clay system, Paint conditioner... then I use ICE from Turtle Wax to give it that GREAT gleam in the sun and good protection. Wheels are cleaned and shined with Meguires. The gel tire cleaner and glosser works the best. The car is spotless from front to back.

Dings or scratches:

The hood has a few dings from rocks on the highway. There are no dents anywhere. The back bumper inserts were stolen a few months ago, and I never got them replaced. (Will replace upon sale of vehicle.) Front windshield has one small ding in it... I guess a rock or something hit it... but I put windshield repair stuff from my local window repair shop that will prevent "spider-webbing" and so the crack will not grow larger. Interior is in great condition. Leather conditioner and cleaner was used on regular basis. The back seats were never sat in, so they dont have a crease of stretch anywhere.

I have an Underglow kit for the car and the control box is mounted in the center console right ubder the parking brake lever. Door panels are clean, no scratches. Dash is fine. No cracks or silicon based products uused. Since I live in Texas, its HOT and the sun shines very bright during the summers. Window shade used throughout summer. Carpet is great too. Normal wear after 30,000 miles.

I had a Smart Buy from Chevy. I got sucked into this thinking it was a great deal, but only found out later that it wasnt. The sales guy, screwed me, another sales guy. I still owe $21,098.34 on the car. My payments are $399.94 a month. I am in no way asking for the full price, because I know good and well that you can get a brand new one for this price. Im willing to take a shower, but not a bath, so Im asking for $5,000 less than I owe.

My asking price is $16,000. I think thats very reasonable for the car and the care I have given her.

I live in Texas, so anyone interested... PM me or reply to this post.

Here are a few pictures: Some recent, some old:

Well, thanks lol. I try. Im like that with all my cars. I was an idiot trading in a 2001 Toyota Solara, leather, sunroof, JBL audio system... power evertything... but hey... when your young... you dont think clearly.

Thanks for the bump! And hopefully, Ill sell it. I have about 6 months. But I want to sell it before then, so drive my parents car for a while to save up some money.

Don't sell just yet...the cobalt has a pretty good child restraint latch system. While it won't be SUPER convienient, you don't have to sell just yet. Especially if just engaged...

Bro-ham! DONT SELL THE 'BALT!!! I've got an SS/SC with a new baby and a new wife. We get around fine with the baby seat in the back. Not exactly the most convienient thing, as stated above, but it works out fine for our needs. Baby seat facing backwards and passenger in the front seat works well (if you don't mind seeing the back of your passenger's left ear). Of course, it helps that the wife owns a '05 Trailblazer 4x4, so we don't exactly cruise the family in the 'balt.

Good luck with the sale and good luck with the engagement. -bump-

P.S. Do a search for the Pontiac G8 GT V8 on this site, might be a good idea for a "family car" (with some nuts, of course). 4 door with a 6.0L V8 on a rear wheel drive platform taking the place of the Grand Prix. Later

Good luck with the sale

[I got engaged and later purchased the SS. I would never get engaged/married if she made me sell my two sports cars. You don’t need a boring car to be an adult. You don’t need a sedan to start a life together ...My .02 ]

LOL if I guy told me I had to get a van that would = one swift kick to the nuts.

That's what EVOs and STi's are for...compromise. 4 door = still "family" but can still kick ass.
