For sale: 2005 Neon SRT-4
For sale: 2005 Neon SRT-4
I transitioned from the darkside to a new 09 SS. My orange 2005 SRT-4 (only year orange was made) has a tick over 70,000 miles and all options (Kicker sound, six disc changer, moonroof, etc.). Note that the LSD and stage one injectors came standard that year. It is and has always been bone stock, except motor mount inserts b/c the stock mounts were janky, and I don't race. Ever. She's only drank Sunoco 93/94 or Shell V-Power and only ran Mobil1 fully synthetic with K&N filter. There are a few body dings and dents but nothing major. I'm just trying to see if there's any interest at all. Asking price $9500 firm. It's listed locally and will be on Autotrader/Cars soon. I'll send a ton of pics if anyone has honest interest. Pm me up!
No prob I'll try to get them up in a few days (doing this at work) and bump. Although many of you won't admit it those cars are awesome, my favorite. But, I get tired of things easily and got a sick deal on a new SS. Not a sales tactic, but I'm strongly considering keeping it, hence why I didn't trade it and haven't listed it online. I'll bump when I post pics.
Okay I finally got some pics done. I'm looking to do a whole bunch more, but I just haven't had time between two jobs and getting my wallet stolen! The car is cleaned up but not dressed up in any way. I'd prefer to get a full detail but I just haven't had time. Like I said the car is in great shape, but having 70k miles there are a few flaws. Unlike some of the people on here I will point all of them out, as a couple of the people who have interest are pretty far away and I want to make sure you know everything there is to know. Please note that you can expand the pics by clicking on them.
All of the flaws that I am aware of:
Two rims are near perfect and are not shown, and two have a little rash which I showed here. On the first one, note to self..... Don't let GF drive the car! As for the second one, the rim rolled over onto the driveway one time when I was rotating the tires, so it just has the little mark you can see.

The boost gauge just recently decided to level out at 7 instead of 0. It works but is obviously 7 off. Other gauges are in great shape.

Also, there is now a hairline crack in the bumper. I got rear ended at low speed a few years ago by a plastic Suzuki car. All it visibly left was a few scuffs which were taken out by the dealer no problem. However, I think that the plastic was weakened and eventually the crack showed through just recently. There are NO scuffs on the bumper whatsoever (I know it looks like there is one in the lower corner). Cost to repair is $440 locally I was going to sell for $9950 with fix or $9500 without. The shop put me out a few weeks so I just put it up for sale instead.

There are only few body dings as well, both of which I'd consider normal wear and tear. There is a small door ding in the driver's side and a small rock chip in the hood that I took here below. The hood chip is the slightly discolored spot (factory touch up paint)

Now that I'm done with the bad, onto the good. Like I said everything else about the car has been babied. The body panels are all great, no rust or other marks, and I wax the car at least a couple times each year. It has not gotten it's spring cleaning yet (engine bay especially), but it really shines as you can see in the pics. I am the original owner of the car and I have all the original documentation including the window sticker. As I said before, I only ran two kinds of gas, Shell V-Power and Sunoco 93/94 depending on the price and season. Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil every change, K&N oil filter every change (I have about 4 new filters I ordered in bulk that I'm throwing in), changed typically around 3500 miles. Any time I was into the boost at all, I'd idle the car at least a few minutes before parking, as I am **** about taking care of the turbo. New 4-season performance tires were installed in late fall, I'd say roughly 6000 miles ago (see pics below). The car just got new plugs installed by the shop as well. I have never added any performance modifications. The only things I've changed are as follows:
1) Prothane motor mount inserts (I forgot to take a picture of), to stiffen up the stock mounts because they were known to be weak
2) SRT-4 door sills which you can see in the pics below and are in good shape like new
3) Catch can (these cars had a ton of oil blow-through)
As I stated the car has all available options, including the moonroof, six disc changer, and Kicker amp/sub:

The tires (pic is of front, the back ones have not been run up front yet and have slightly more tread)

The interior has no flaws to speak of and is in good shape, see the following pics:

More pics of the body and doors:

So there you have it. If you want more pics I would be happy to get them but I just don't have any days off so it might be a little bit. I think my price is extremely fair and I'm not really willing to go any lower. I have a few payments left and if it doesn't sell I'll probably end up keeping it. So there you have it, PM me if you are interested.
