280lbft instead of 260? doesn't sound like much? maybe it felt slower because of the gearing? question is was it actually slower because it's boost limited in some gears IIRC.. also MS3 is about 300lbs heavier too.

Yes its limited in 1st and 2nd, but so what, you'd spin them more if they were not. A tune can take that off anyway.

idk my ms3 felt way faster than my stock lnf. I raced 1 lnf in my ms3, both of us on snow tires, given he said his TC was on, and I smoked him. The gearing is bad from a digg, yes. from a roll its ok. the ms3 weights what 3200. so ya 300 lbs more about. but the extra torq helps They are pretty comparable performance wise though. I just love how you guys get so butt hurt talking about them haha. ohhhh do i miss mine.

 

why didn't ya get another? btw newest MS3 is rated 0-60 in 6.4 seconds i'm not butthurt at all.. the MS3 is more refined and should be faster...just doubt it really is that much faster..

 

Goodluck Christian, I doubt you'll find a straight up trade, but its possible. Theres a guy from Hunnington on here that was trying to sell his SS/TC.

I bought the ms3 as it was a fast, "luxury" wagon. I needed the space to move things and I was driving 35k a year for work. It was also my only car at the time. When it was totaled I was like time for change, the lnf was the fastest fwd car on the market around the ring, and I figured I'd buy a 2nd car for winter. So thats where I stand now.

2008 ms3 0-60 = 5.9 seconds
2009 cobalt ss 0-60 = 5.8 seconds
both via edmunds, not a huge difference. The gearing on the SS is fantastical though, oh man 2nd and 3rd are long as #$#.

 

ya the wagon is a huge bonus that's for sure...

There's a diff of around 2k in your favor..but that's all on *paper*.
Anyone with a SS/TC with 15K mi who would make a clean trade for your car with 47K and (UNKNOWN mechanical condition) is NUTS in my opinion. If they had maybe 35K on the car..then yeah..I could see it. It won't happen for the reasons I pointed out...you'll have CASH balances to pay off in almost any trade you find.

I don't think he's too far off base for what he wants.Price would need to be negotiated by both parties,but for the most part a use SS T/C is pretty close in value to what he has.My needs have changed like I'm sure others have and I could actually use a wagon now.Anyhow good luck I hope it works out for you.

Dude i'm just in here because I feel this guy's pain with all the ppl talking about how "this could never happen" when it damn well could. If you have the money to put on top of the trade. Some ppl just want to get out from under their cobalt payment and would welcome something else(as far as my situation goes.) And if you really want the pm's from the guys from here then i'll gladly send you them, as well as text messages from guys that didn't pm me. The trade I want WILL happen, i'm just trying to find "the perfect car" before I make a decision, and if I don't find it, then i'm going to settle for that ALMOST perfect car. Which, if you read my original post, means that the trade did happen. BUT...all this is talk and I look forward to being able to stop talking about it and start showing off pics
