07ss/sc vs 98 cobra svt???
OK so this guy at my work has a 98 mustang cobra with the 4.6 v8 he always talks crap to me that i have no chance against him that he will just walk me.Now i have raced alot of mustangs from 93-05 all gt's and have been able to beat them all by at least 2-3 cars if not more and since his is a cobra i dont know if his has any more power then your regular 4.6L.He has gave me a ride in it and i have checked it out it is bone stock that i can see under the hood other then a full exhaust i have no clue and nither does he if the internals are stock he got the car used it has 140K and when he took he for a ride and he got on it my first gear feels so much meaner then his does so what do guys think should i be able to beat him my mod's are in my sig.????
he makes 320hp and weighs less than a 99-04 and much less than an 05+ GT.
IF he can drive at all and if that engine isnt too ragged out he should be able to beat you. Key word should...if he cant drive you might walk all over him.

What have you ran in the 1/4 mile, if you've been? The 96-98 Cobras had the DOHC 32v v8, but sadly only ran low 14's to high 13's on average. Yes the new 05+ GT's are faster stock for stock. And I really cant see you beating the new GT's by 2 to 3 cars.
You are so full of ******* **** its not even funny.
Actually, he's pretty spot on.
Elaborate on what parts of the mustang's performance he's talkin about are full of ****?
Having owned a 94 gt, 96 cobra, 04 gt, and 06 gt, and taken them to the track (all in their stock form, except for o/r h pipes and catbacks), my quickest of the cars was the 06 gt, running a 13.6 stock, and a 13.3 after cai and tune.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe you could drive a lot better by the time you got the 05? Or that it had better street tires? better conditions that day at the track?
The 96-98 cobras run an fairly easy mid 13 with a halfway competant driver. And no, an 05+ GT isnt an EASY mid 13 second car....more like an 13.8-9 car on average...
I had no idea that 05+ owners really thought so obscurely about their cars...its pretty laughable.
Not really.

13.8-13.9 with a 05+ with 3.55 gears with a shitty driver maybe.
3.55 rear gears helped get those cars down the track, compared to the cobra's 3.27's for those years.
Not to mention the more rigid frame and rear suspension helping out with better launches.
Go ahead, lets hear you say something else that shows how much you don't know.
My good friend has a 98 cobra with full bolt-ons and dyno'd 292whp on a mustang dyno. With just stage 2, 2.85 and full exhaust I am pretty much dead even with him from a roll. They can be pretty quick I guess...?
Having said that, his best time was a 13.5 with the car like that. To do much better than that the cars need something (spray, boost, etc) they don't have much *****. Not to mention that was with a pretty good 60ft as well.
Seen this car pull MANY other bolt on 96-98 cobras so I doubt he is a shitty driver. I find it very hard to believe that these are "fairly easy mid 13 second" cars.

It never crossed my mind that i "gotten better" because i sold the cobra and traded the 04 gt in on the06, and went to the track less than a month from the last time i went with the cobra. the 05+ cars are that much better than the 96-98 cobras. ****, with a cai and retune, i put down the same dyno numbers, same day, as an 03 Mach 1. VCT FTW.

There really isnt a point in arguing with Mr Bologna. I have told him and showed him a link to a guy running a 12.9 with just an intake and tune. And there are tons of other guys out there running 13.5-13.6 stock and some even faster. He's just pissed because he doesnt have a 3v.
You are ******* retarded and you wont run ANYwhere near a 12 with an intake and tune if you take your junk to a track.
Sorry, but more than just one guy ran 12's with an intake and tune. And why is my car junk now, because its faster than yours? Or because you're jealous? I never said everyone runs 12's, but on average they are mid 13 second cars and with an intake and tune it is a low 13 second car, 13.2-13.3 on average. The autos run high 13's stock, I've seen that done over and over, and the 5spds are of course faster. Stop f*cking hating, I'm telling you what I know and what I've seen.
You're pretty much right. I love cars in general and I know what the common car can run on average, and with certain mods. I wouldnt be saying **** about anything if this guy would just look around and see what certain people are running with certain mods.

My mods were Fujita CAI, Stg2 Injectors, 2.8" pulley, GMPP Header, ZZP 2.5" Catless Downpipe, GMPP Cat-Back, and Wick'd T00n.
First and Third video, he was spinning on the launch... but you can see that the SS wins the Top End battle either way.

I am not picking on any single person. You win some you loose some. Mustangs will ALWAYS be part of the musclecar scene...PERIOD. Either you love em or hate em. Me? I love em. Watch the 2nd vid..... SRT8 walked em both! AWD. Once again...not picking on any one inpeticular. Pick on me...it's O.K.!

DO some research... the mustang was never part of the muscle car scene. It was, however, the birth of the Pony Wars/Cars.
