Come on, you guys had to know this was BS from the beginning. One, he claimed to run a low 12 in a 3100 pound car with just over 300 whp. The math don't work. Two, he said the car in the other lane was a V6 Mustang, it ran 15.9. Really now. Unless that is the greatest track with magic weather and halfway downhill, neither of those cars will run that time.

First off Grand Ams don't weight 3100lbs and most V6 mustangs can easily run faster than 15.9.

Secondly I knew it was BS.

That model Grand Am is 3091 lb, but yeah, V6 mustangs may not be that fast, but they're definitely better than 15.9.

Yeah, if you are going to say that Grand Am's don't weigh 3100 pounds you have to then back up your knowledge with a number.

As for a V6 Mustang running 15.9, I guess the new more powerful model with a 5-speed can. At any other point it would have to be a very friendly track.

My friend brought his V6 2005 mustang to the track today. He had a CAI, a tune and a axle back muffler. His gearing was stock, and he had an open diff on stock street tires. He ran 14.9's consistantly today.

There was another 05 V6 there with just bolt on's that made two passes at 14.9 as well.

And both of those cars were autos. The manuals do even better. :cssNET:

ggarcia86 08-12-2006 07:26 PM

but also v6 05's are considerably faster than v6 04's right?

Absolutely! The 3.8 is a great motor for turbos, pretty strong. But NA, bolt on for bolt on the new 4.0's react much better to mods.

ggarcia86 08-12-2006 10:24 PM

what are the some of the best stock times for the new 4.0 5 speed? they hit mid 14s? what times with simple bolt ons?

Simple bolt ons will get a manual to 14.5 to 14.6's pretty solid. Best time with bolt ons, suspension and tires on a manual is 13.9 by PHP. I know guys that have hit 14.3's.

For best stock times on the 4.0 manual, I think 14.9 is the best I have seen.
