Exclamation 14.6 2.2L Cobalt + Nitrous EXPLOSION!

Well for the second day in a row, I was at the race track doing some runs with the new nitrous system...

Fastest time yesterday was 15.2 @ 97 mph, yes, you saw that right, 97 mph. I had a horrible 60' time (2.7) because I was spinning the tires all the way through first gear.

Today: first run of the day, layed down a 14.6 at 95mph. Second run, not as good, but still a nice run. Then came the 3rd run.

The Zex window traction control switch was set, however nitrous engaged while I was reving waiting to launch (on accident a second before launch) launched car and KABOOM!

In all honestly, I'm not pissed or anything, just was an amazing thing to have happen and not have any damage other than the intake manifold shattering, intake air filter shooting off and poping out the front fender, and the minor damage to the hood.

Here's the video of the 14.6 run and then the nitrous explosion:

Hey I'm EXTREMELY impressed with the time, hell the trap speed yesterday was 97mph.

As for the damage, nothing major, just need a new manifold and some light work on the hood. Was thinking about buying a bigger throttle body anyways...I was laughing about it all day, not even pissed.

Nice run on the 14.6 man.

You might wanna make sure non of that plastic made it's way inside. Hate to see you rebuild then have more problems later.

But other than that, good opportunity to upgrade that plastic intake. I know a couple of companies make tuned length runner style intakes, but they are pretty crazy pricey, last I knew. But you might be able to get one fabbed up for a decent price. Also gives you the opportunity to weld in bungs for extra injectors, if your future plans call for em

PS, love the pic by the license plate, remember. Smart people don't have as much fun

Im impressed. not only with how nice that white 2.2 looks (I HATE YOU. I WANT A WHITE SS/SC *CRY*)

But with how quick the run was, on top of your attitude of "gotta pay to play"
Kudos to you man. Hope it all pulls back together soon for you.

I hope I'm hitting mid 14's with the same setup once I hit the track...

guess its time to up the engage point to 3100 since I have mine set at 3000 and launch at 3000

well atleast I do on the street anyway...that sucks though.

But wait, how the hell does that happen? were you WOT?
