2.2L track disappointment

So I went to firebird last night, getting a sort of base on my car before I go more into other mods and lighter, wider wheels n tires. I was hoping to do decent and hit mid 15's or something, but that sure didn't happen.

My car has the GMPP intake, GMPP sport exhuast, GMPP extrude honed exhaust manifold.
Take into account, I have an automatic, first time running a fwd vehicle at the track (second time ever at the track) and was running on the stock 195/60R15's. No need to mention wheel spin.

I lined up against an evo IX w/ exhaust first run, and he ran 13.973. And second run 1999? civic 4 door with a B18C swap, w/intake and muffler, who ran 16.181. I had him until about the 1000ft mark. Times were slow all night, a new shelby GT ran 14.2 and 14.1.

I'll post my slips when I can get my camera to work(I think the battery is fried).

And yes, my R/T's suck, but funny they were better than the evo .805 (regular at the track) and the civic .645.

First run - Launched at 2000RPMs
RT ... .469
60 ... 2.573
330 ... 7.063
1/8 ... 10.703
mph ... 69.07
1000 ... 13.825
1/4 ... 16.539
MPH ... 82.83

Launched at 2300RPMs
RT ... .544
60 ... 2.519
330 ... 6.992
1/8 ... 10.611
mph ... 68.57
1000 ... 13.728
1/4 ... 16.438
mph ... 82.91

Gotta be the auto holding you back man gotta be!

As for your RT was it set to run at a .500 light or .000 light? Either way that EVO was sleeping!

the SHELBY GT, and the GT500 are 2 different cars...
Decent times for a 2.2L. dont hang your head.
send the jap crap that beat you my way... on a roll race, I'll burn and EVO or STI

P.S. Pretty Consistent... Do bracket Racing

I really don't know, what's the difference?

Still 14.1 is slower than a Mustang GT

I might try the bracket racing thing.

It was my first time with a fwd car, and second time ever. I wasn't just talking about out off the line, I was spinning going into second. Actually now that I think about it, spin in second was the same or worse than spin off the line.

yeah i know. where u in "D" or "I/2" or "L"?

next time rev it lower. i think you will do a better. even with my 2.4 now i was at the track last nite and i tried several launches. tried around 2000rpm i spun so much. i dropped it down to 1700rpm and ran constant times the whole nite. next time try it out. i had the same problem with my 2.2 as well. i wud rev to high and spin till it hit 2nd then it would go. my one run i did that i ran like 17.1. try it out. good luck

thats about all you can really expect froma 2.2L automatic.

Mid 15's require alot more mods then you have.

i can vouch for that. when running my 2.4ss the other nite 3rd gear is not the best gear. its the same tranny on the 2.2 auto. 1st and 2nd are strong as hell. but currently with my tranny tune it ***** higher. we lowered some line pressure for firmer stronger shifts and thats about it for now. once i get some other mods ill mess around with the tranny more. but i need a tranny cooler first. that thing will get hot. yeah def leave in drive.rev up to about 1700 then when u hit about 20-30mph put it into I. u will get some good response. reason y when u put it in L the traction control shuts off thats y u spin. D will give u traction so u can hook and leave hard then puttin it to I will give u aggressive shifts.
