Went to the track today was hoping for mid to high 13's but couldn't buy a low 60 ft today even with DR's for some reason maybe bad track prep i dont know I have done 2.00, 2.01 but today best was 2.25 w/best run 14.14 @ 100 I ran 13.8s last year at a different track going to have to talk to hatrictsu about the cooling mod since I have none and that is a problem thinking about the dual pass and his mod to start with i went to QCR in ohio today an SSTC there ran 14.07 and a stock SS ran in low 15's

So, I'm unsure of what to do. Turns out my tranny problem was not synchro's. I blew up the slave cylinder. I was at the track with all of my mods and running slicks. I believe I was still stcok pulley, tune, injectors, etc. when this happened. Yet, my car was still driveable,...somehow. It is now fixed. I was told that it could have been because the Spec stage 3+ pressure plate is double sprung and too hard on the throw-out bearing. Another tech disagreed. This caused some debate and I somehow ended up with a warranty repair (I got really lucky. I should have paid for this repair). Anyways, I've done some research and discovered that nobody makes an upgraded slave cylinder and throw-out bearing for our cars. So, out of concern for the longevity of my car, believing that I have found the true weak spot in the tranny, I did not race yesterday. I'm now selling my slicks to a friend, and don't think I'm going to race the Cobalt anymore. At this point, I can't pay to play. The cost got too high.
Do you guys think I'm being too foolish and overly concerned, or have I made the right decision to not pursue the list in the OP of this thread? No. They are not LSJ's or LNF's. However, I do know that some LE5's are well built and could give a bunch of us a good run. I have a friend with a 2.4 coupe that ran 9.1 in the 1/8th. He is all motor, has a tranny mod, and I let him use my slicks.
