Yeah, I'm Air Force EOD and I cannot state where I am at for OPSEC reasons actually. I'm in the rear with the gear where nothing is really going on needless to say, and remember I'm 8 hours time difference so that's why it seems I'm on here a lot. Your day time is my night time, and I get a little time on here in the morning if it's quiet. I am also just a SSgt, but I am the Flight Chief of a 6 man shop here so I do work and have responsibility even know we are in a more laid back part of the sand box.

Oh, and there is more to come too! I'm telling you the B18B is so overlooked by the majority because everyone want's VTEC! They are stout, 9.0-9.2:1 compression and are perfect for boosting!

yeah i was trying to tell my friend to sell his b20 block and b16 head to just go with standard B18b setup, less confusion for him since his stock was a b18b.

B20 block is another good one for boosting. The B18 is a bit better for higher boosting since the cylinder walls are thicker, but the extra displacement is nice. The LS/VTEC on boost would be fun too. If I had those parts I'd make them work, but a straight OBD2 B18B is the poopy for th boosting. I just don't have the OBD2 crap hooked up!

The car is a 1995 so it was already an OBD-1 car. The new motor is from a 98 LS so it's OBD-2. It actually has a better head and cams than the OBD-1 B18B and B18A did. I just used my Intake manifold and distributor from the orginal OBD-1 B18B and put it on the new OBD-2 engine. The only other difference is that the OBD-2 has a crank sensor, but since the car is OBD-1 there is nothing to plug to it from the harness and the car's ECU isn't looking for it. Just leave it as is with nothing connected to it and viola you are good to go.

Speaking of DA's, my buddy just scored a pretty straight one for $500! It didn't have a good engine, so he ordered a JDM B20 shipped to his work for $650 total! He just dropped it in and is cranking around. I guess he rolls my buddies bolt-on B18B DC2 now the way it sits!

You know it's funny, I posted the same info on HondaTech in the LS-T thread and everyone just skipped over it. I guess the Honda guys really don't care like my Cobalt brotheren on here do.

Dude, I've been looking for a sweet little integra for a while now. I think I may just go with a crx or civic hatch and b18b boost it. Sounds uber cheap and I used to be into honda's anyway. Always fun to have a ***** to the wall drag car.

A CRX or hatch would be even crazier with a B18B turbo'd in it. Cheap to do too! I actually had my eyes on an untainted 1993 CX hatch, and just so happen to have a spare B18B that just needs to be rebuilt sitting in the garage. We shall see in the future what may happen for another project later on down the road.

I try not to venture to far into them either. That is really the only thread I post in. I used to check out team-integra a bit, but got bored with the BS on there too.

My buddy has a B18b in his EG hatch, and cant decide weather to put on the VTEC head he has or to turbo it. I want him to go turbo cause they are so fun! We did the B18b swap from his brothers LS Integra, then he got a new one, lol. The hatch almost keeps up with me with just the B18b in it, I dont think I could shake him if he goes turbo!

AjSS, tell him to sell the head and turbo it! Way more fun and power to be had than a NA LS/VTEC! No questions, just tell him to do it and he won't be sorry! Yeah, if he turbos his B18B in a hatch you car will get rolled hard. My Cobalt the way it sits right now could barely keep a nose on my Integra with a slipping clutch and the old turbo. The new setup will just straight roll my Cobalt now. When I get back, I'll have to do some more videos and pull the other one's I have on a camera for everyone. I won't post the kills because no one would believe me, but it was nasty before and now it's just plain sick! I can't wait until it's properly tuned and dialed it with some more boost!

Yea, thats what i've been telling him, lol. We raced before I got the header w/o cat, and the meth, and I only put like 2 cars on him. He wants to keep up with me for when I put my 2.7 on, and I told him to go turbo and he should pull on me. The only problem is he doesn't have a job, lol.

No job, not turbo! Hell I'd work at MickeyD's for car parts at this point!

Well... I got some bad news when I checked my email this morning. The car has had a little smoke coming from it off and on, and we thought it might have been the new turbo or some oil still burning off from the previously blown turbo. After a compression check #1 @ 198, #2/#4 @ 175, and #3 @ 75. The car is still running nice and strong, but only on three cylinders. This also means that the 8.0 @ 90mph was done on 3 cylinders and not 4 because the car is running exactly the same as it was at the track! If it can do that on 3 cylinders, I can't wait till it's back breathing life on all four.

Needless to say a rebuild is in order, and possibly a well known company called Brain Crower might be contacted for a nice complete forged stroker kit.

Yeah, I don't know how it's doing it. But somehow it's surviving. I picked the engine that's in it now up with 87K unkown miles on it from a local guy anyhow, so for all I know that cylinder could have been on it's way out anyhow as I didn't test it before installing it. A fully forged block will be a lot more fun anyhow. Then I can run more boost without worrying! The good thing is that since my buddy has been driving it mostly he is going to chip in big time to rebuild it. I've only got to drive it a handful of times since the new motor was installed since I pretty much lent it to him while his car is being rebuilt, so it sort of sucks. Oh well, gotta pay to play.

I might have to get a bigger turbo if I sleeve the block while I'm at it! No sense in having a fully built motor if I can't push it to the limit!

damn man that sucks, thankfully honda motors are a dime a dozen. just sleeve the bitch and build it up. shouldn't be too much to do. I still need to do a compression test on the cobalt, but I'm afraid of what I'll find out lol. thing still runs strong, definitely down on out of boost power, but runs great non-the-less. G/l with building it back up

Yeah, that's why I was scared to have it done myself! And as usual my luck was bad! I've just been looking online and a sleeved block looks to be well within the budget! This most likely means no turbo for the Cobalt now, but I can't wait to start the build as soon as I get back now! Good luck with yours as well man.

BC stroker kit is out and 81.5mm 9.0:1 CP pistons/rings, Eagle Rods, and ACL bearings are in! This setup has been proven time and time again for 400-500whp with reliability on the B18B, so deep into the low 7's or high 6's here I come!
