Im new to the 4 cyl 1/4 mi drag. My family races a Corvette at Pittsburgh Raceway Park that does a 10.96@ 123 (google "vet85us" its a two to blue Vette). I have a 09 Cobalt LS with the XFE package. I have a K&N replacement filter, took out the air quieter thing under the pass. side headlight and run Mobile 1 5w30 Synth. What else can I do to the car w/o voiding the warranty, keepin it a daily driver (110 mi round trip) and keep it relatively cheap?
i feel like you can get away with the 2.4 mani swap because lets say you need a hose changed or something i doubt the mechanic is gonna look at the manifold and say is that a bigger one and rfuse to do the hose...but you never know
I agree with WhiteSSBalt, get the GMPP parts and have them installed by a dealer and its under warranty. then look at nitrous and weight reduction. those are about the only two things you can add and remove with easy and not have the dealer know when warranty stuff is needed.
I appreciate this guys. Btw the car is a 5 spd, 4 door. and to Future Ecotech... I drive the care a total of MAYBE 10 Miles a year by myself... 5 at the track and 5 miles around the block to set the toe/alignment when we put the street tires back on.
My other question comes to weight reduction... what can I do to make the car lighter yet still keep the warranty? It wont be long till its up (100,000 miles). I bought the car in November and I have 13000 miles on it with a 550-700 Mile average per week. By that point I may be willing to play a bit and have more $$$ to drop into it.

To keep it driveable, I'd say you can really just take out the spare tire and all the carpet in the trunk, and possibly the rear seats. I really dont see getting much out of the car for weight reduction unless you strip it. Damn, 13k miles is alot since November. I bought mine in August and have just over 6k on mine.
the spare tire and carpet would be an at track event... i drive too much to risk it. To do a full weight reduction, I am better off waiting until I have a second car... the exhaust and intake manifold though, as sugested earlier are an excellent idea, esp going with GMPP... expensive, yes, but covered under the warranty. Heck, I might pull 35 mpg instade of 32...
