Another first time at the track
Another first time at the track
I dont have a scanner, but the times are nothing to not believe.
My car is capable of 13's if i knew how to hook up off the launch. I was launching at 1.5-2k then easing into it and ripping it in 1st throw it in 2nd ETC........so these times are pretty much not even going WOT in 1st.
1st Run
R/T:.341
60':2.366
330:6.358
1/8:9.475
MPH:78.40
1/4:14.410
MPH: 100.34
2nd Run
R/T:.615
60':2.347
330:6.299
1/8:9.404
MPH:78.68
1/4:14.323
MPH: 100.79
But the times were consistent it got better so.
I guess its time to learn how to launch, and also time for some polyurathane Motor Mounts.

There is nothing wrong with those times.
Don't be under the assumption that more power makes it easier to drive.
In fwd, more power means more work for the driver to get it right.
Congrats, you are hooked like the rest of us...!!!!
Nice runs.

That's nothing to be ashamed of! Good times! With these cars, to run anything "impressive", it's literally mandatory to have bushings, mounts and DR's/Slicks. They're just too hard to launch. Your trap speed looks good though. Just get those, and above all, practice if you want those times to drop.
bushings and mounts are not neccessary to have good times patience and practice are.... one of our fellow members called me the other day and ran a 14.3 with a bone stock cobalt no mods at all... he is probably the 4th or 5th guy i have seen do it..... but with that said if you put control arm bushings on your car it is much easier to launch....

Let me clarify my point. If you want SUB 2.0 60's then it's necessary to have what I said. Just so you know, what's impressive for one might not be for another. By "impressive", I meant 1.9 or better 60's, running mid 13's or better. In this case, if it were possible for him to get a 1.9 60', he would've ran ~13.7 ish. Which then would've been considered
"impressive" for his mods.
Its gonna take 2.0 or better 60's to see great ET's . The diff for my car is pretty great . 2.20/30's on the 60 and it consistently will ET 14.20's and 30's . All my 2.0 60ft's were in the 13.90's , and the 2.1's were 14.0's-teens . It took about 18 passes in the same day to figure out how to pull off a 2.0 on stock pirelli's and no mounts or TQ brace .
So ...Excellent driving dude . Your MPH is down a little more than it should be , but I doubt it has anything to do with the car or your driving . Florida's muggy crappy air is good at zapping HP away .

As you've seen, he's cut 1.8 60's on them! You want somthing with a soft sidewall.
