ya i know but to tc it i would have to spend like 3 grand and i don't want to spend that much and i am looking into buying a tc next year when i get taxes back that why i don't want to turbo this one i just want it to be somewhat fast i mean if i could get to the high 13's without boost or low 14's i would be happy

Get a custom tune from somebody in your area and skip the shift+
I would also suggest to not buy any more parts and save for the turbo kit (or your next car if you really want to switch)
best you will do is high 14s without boost...

I would definitely turbo that 2.4...2006 = forged rods! 12 sec car with stage 3 turbo kit

$650-700 and you can have a turbo, bpv, manifold and charge pipes right now.
Make way more power than a s/c too, and can turn it down to low boost for reliability.

Fastest NA on record here is 14.5. that's a 5 speed car on Slicks. IMO it could go faster but you wont see low 14's high 13's without spending as much as you would on a turbo setup.
I've gone 14.94 @94 with just and intake, exhaust, lowering spings on street tires. i have a header and DP now and will have an LSJ TB and tune soon. hoping to get down to 14.7 on street tires. and maybe pick up a set of DRs if im lucky.
take the car for what it is. looks nice but it wont be as fast as an SS2 without some money

When i made that 14.9 pass it was in 50 degree weather on a sunny day. i think a tuune to your PCM and Trans will wake your car up a bit. see what that nets you before you get to hard on yourself.
Is this the first car youve ever taken to the track?

ya it is i am getting the b&m shift plus will that help it any i got it for 20 so i hope it does but i want to go as far as i can with na before any boost the only things i have left are the header/dp and i want to get the lsj tb and zzp cams and then we will see where that get me and most likely go with an sc build since its cheap and i am getting a ss/tc next year.
Now zzp says you don't need a tune with the cams and the lsj tb so is this true or not either way i am gonna get hp tuned by james(chevycobaltss3)

you may not "need" a tune, but a tune will almost always help, it would be in your best interest.
I now have a ZZP header/DP a megan cat back. with the K&N and a LSJ-TB going on i a few weeks along with a tune. like you im hoping to go fater, but boost would get me there alot quicker. i have 154,xxx miles. so im not going to boost this motor, however a build could start next year. would go the turbo route with the ZZP cams.
good luck with the car, ill let know now how i feel the LSJ TB works out.

Bad time to run at Bradenton. Well, it's great to just get out there and practice but don't expect ur best times is all I'm saying. High 13's or low 14's is aiming too high bro wanting to drop two seconds will be pricey.
Speed cost. How fast can you afford to go?

i live 15 minutes from that track. It sucks. plus they spayed some stuff like superglue on the track last time and it ruined my clutch. The guy spraying it accidentally stepped on what he sprayed, and it took his shoes right off!!!lol
what times were you expecting anyways? 15.5-15.9?
