Castrol 1/4 mile times
Thought I'd post this up here after today's runs.. almost everybody was running alot slower than they should've I think due to the weather being so friggin hot.. if I remember correctly, my in-car gauge was reading outside temps of about 92 degrees .. it was 86 on the drive home at around 6pm and it was definately cooler at that point; we were running in the early afternoon for about 1.5 to 2 hours. Elevation at the track is approximately 2300 feet above sea level.
If anybody can correct the times, I'm a little curious as to what the corrected times would be.
My best for the day was 13.539@105.96mph.. 2nd best was 13.644@106.18mph
My car runs strong and hard, but I have serious traction issues in 1st gear.. might need slicks or to lower the front tire pressures to being ridiculously low.. I had already put them down to 27 lbs. The rears were at 41 with the heat, and are normally at 34 on a normal day. Car ran pretty consistent 13.7's as I did part throttle 1st gear launches.

if you have hptuner, you can reduce your boost on first gear by 50% if you want.

correcting times on a super/turbo car yields a very little--esp at your low alt.
Checkout dragtimes.com they have historical weather data (taken from Edmonton Intl--don't go by your cars temp gages) and a correction calculator.

I did 14 runs and 10 of them were all 13.7-13.8.. 2 screw-ups and 2 good ones. One screw-up was 14.6@80 lol.. missed 3rd and said screw it.. coasted through and still won :P Other one I tried granny shifting.

Ya I realize that.. and as it was, I was the 2nd fastest car at the track on that day.. I was pretty disappointed with my times, but there was nothing I could do about that with the **** poor traction and the extremely hot weather. Next time there's a street legals going on with "normal" weather, I'll go try again; I expect to see a 13.2 at the very least. As for the guy who got the 13.2, he has mods and a superchips tune.. most of his runs were 13.7ish but he got lucky with that one lol.. perfect launch probably.. but the superchips tune is restricted to 66% in 1st gear.. mine's at 82%.

Wow double post.. p.o.s website lol.. that makes me feel like Neoned from SRT4oA.. Inside joke.. but here's a couple of links to get an idea.. although this thread doesn't have any of his multiple posts of him repeating himself as he usually does, you still get to see what kinda person he is lol.
These guys are still going on about racing each other.. this has been going on for.. like.. ever! Both of them always talk unrealistic **** and it's quite entertaining to watch them go at each other the way they do lol.

Hey Man,
I ran my 08 SS/TC in May.
Ran 14.1 stock corrected to 13.9 Got the calculator if you need it.
Need to get slicks. I contacted Hahn and they ran Mickey Thompson street radial II on stock rims. Dam Brembo brakes. Going to try the Hahn set up.
I launched at 2000 rpm. so sad. my 2008 STi could launch at 6500 rpm.
Is there a Edmonton SS club?
cheers
Shane
