CLK55 AMG Race

So i raced this CLK55 AMG on the way home today and i thought he was gonna smoke me. Well i think i had the weather to my advantage because he must of had a hard time hooking up or something. Well i came up to a light and gave him the nod. We both took off pretty hard but i actually got the jump on him in 1st gear somehow. Stayed even with him all the way through 2nd and once i shifted into 3rd he started pulling away, but i was at his bumper the whole time in 3rd till i quit at around 90. My car only has an intake and torque damper. I seem to have good luck with expensive luxury cars lol.

He was probably just toying with you there low 13 sec. cars and trap 107-110mph
in the 1/4 mi. I can see your outcome if you had stg2 but not with just an intake.

evos and sti's are low 13 cars with a HARD launch and they are awd. the 55 is much faster from a roll than an evo or sti, so even with a bad launch he should have just kept pulling. evo's and sti's are not fast compared to other cars in their speed class if they are't launched hard. it's all in the launch. Nothing wrong with that cause its fun as ****, but its the truth.

Well i don't know if this has anything to do with it but the temps outside were about 20F so id imagine the 55 had a hard time hooking up for a launch but after we hit about 60 he was deffinatly pulling on me but only managed to pull a car before i stopped. Plus i like to think my car is a factory freak, i pulled 235 whp on the dyno and that was before my intake.

It's most likely he had a hook-up problem....
I raced a V-12 AMG last summer with my R1... and he held with me until mid second gear
They are insane from a roll!

Damn man! raced a car with your R1 and he kept up? Im sure you took him after second gear and left him in your dust though.

CLK55's have a NA 5.4L V8 with 355hp - they run low to mid 13's at 105-108mph. They're all automatics too, but with traction control aren't all that hard to launch. Cold weather would definitely limit their ability there though - even TC can't manufacture grip that isn't there. On the highway they easily pull to their 155mph limit.
