From a roll or dig? I took on one with 266whp from a roll and beat it by a fender within a little over 1 km.

Hmm... a roll from what speed, DarkChild? I am inclined to not believe this.

You aren't beating a new 5.0 with 250 whp. They are a good race for a bolted and tuned LNF which always put down over 300 whp and usually over 350 tq

It had to have been in my sweet spot... I would say 40mph. I had a TVS though. Clogged cat too. DOH! Feel free to be inclined to not believe but I have witnesses and my brother was in the car.

Hmm. I feel like a 5.0 would have **** all over my 250 whp M62 car. What bluebalt said seems to be closer to reality.

Flame suit on.

I raced a stock 2011 5.0, he was automatic and it was a convertable.

80mph roll race, I had 1/2 a car on him by 110mph.

My LSJ was at 269whp at the time.

umm im having a hard time believing people but a stock 5.0 with less then 290 hp.

I guess its possible just dont sound like it should be lol

added

cobalt 2900 at 290hp is 10 pounds per 1 hp

mustang 3600 at 360hp is 10 pounds per 1 hp

360ish what Iv seen most stock stangs make on the dyno.

I put 3 cars on one when i was bolt ons and tune in my ss/tc. if i had to guess i was around 320whp. Id say it would take more than 250whp, but not too much more to be even with one.

No. they run low 13s and trap about 110 right off the showroom floor.
Id guess i'm at lest 250whp and i trap about 105.

If the stang had a really shity driver you might be able to take him from a dig , from a roll you would most likely get stomped.

unless the 5.0 driver is handicap in many ways then maybe the balt might stand a chance, other than that theres no way.

theres alot more involved than this. gearing, drivers, and a miracle for the cobalt.

I said if the stang had a bad driver, he might have a chance from a dig, Ive beaten lots a asshats in rwd cars that don't know what the hell they are doing and up leaving the line side ways in a cloud of smoke. hell i even beat a guy in a evo from a dig because he didn't know what he was doing. lots races are won or lost from launch.

When doing a ricer roll its pretty simple, Put car in lowest possible gear for given speed and mash the gas shift accordingly. It takes driver skill out of the equation and its all about who has the most powerful car. The stang traps 5-7mph higher than the average bolted ss/sc ,short of a missed shift the SS/sc has little chance from a roll. To put it into prospective i raced my buddy with an SI(8th gen) i trap 6mph higher than him ,but our 1/4 mile times are fairly close ..hell almost the same hes even beaten me grated i had a better ET. we did a 60-110 roll (at a race festival in Mexico) and i put bus lengths on him.

its still a drivers race but things shouldnt be going your way against a +2011 5.0
the cobalt (lnf) has a awesome power to weight ratio but the new 5.0 trumps it.

This is because of your powerband compared to his. OP just race and find out if you are that curious on and plus some vids
