a couple of times in the 1/8......

Alright, well CobaltSS422 and myself as well as a few other cobalts went up to the local( and only) dragstip yesterday. The times were VERY dissapointing, the best time I could muster was a 9.6 at 78.6, which is REALLY REALLY bad. Now my question is, when Joe and myself would run I would be running a little bit quicker of a time, like .3 secs at the MOST but my trap speeds were about 5mph quicker.......what's up with that??

Ill post up some of the ones from our runs later, family crap to do.......60' were terrible for both cars......2.4's were "good" yesterday. The track is about 2 degrees uphill if that makes a difference.

dont you have stage 2? your MPH is not great, but it is higher than a stock SS would get, so you can see that there is power there. my SS when it was stock ran a 9.2 at 77MPH so i would say traction issues, maybe some clutch issues(if yours is stock). driving is always a factor too, but you may be a great driver i cant be sure. if you have stage 2 i would say you could be pushing mid to high 8's. how is the weather where you are at? my car only runs 9.4 in the high temps. give us some more details about your runs.

I love to read the comments from others bashing the cobalts in other videos on youtube. They obviously have never seen an SS. One was particularly funny, claiming expert drivers racing a SS/SC vs a RX-8. Claimed the RX would win =p

i was at denton dragway 1/8 mile track in denton, tx. japeatr and TXRLU went too. i think they were pushing 9.4's and 9.6's.
before my 9.2 run i was running consistent 9.3's and 9.4's. its actually a pretty good track. i would say the temp was about 60-65 degrees that night so it was nice to race in.

Stage 2 will not be mid to high 8s! Your 9.2 at 77mph, on street tires? Is a awesome time if it is fact truth. But no ware near the norm for a stock S/C SS Cobalt. Low 9s at best with a good driver and a Stage 2 on street tires. With some other mods, I could posibly see a 8.9, and with DRs or slicks, it'll only get better.

If your running 9.6 at 78.6, it's all in the launch, you said it your self, "2.4 was good that day". Your MPH is thier, not too far from ware it would be on a better weather race day. Every tenth off your 60ft is a avg of 2 tenths in the 1/4. With a FWD car in the 8th, the launch IS everything. If you can't hook up that day, don't expect to run good times. Esp if it is hot and humid.

Deff work on your launch. On a 110 hot and humid day last week, I drove a budies STOCK 06 S/C SS to a 9.7 at 74mph, with a 2.2 60ft. First time ever driving it. hell, I even hit the rev limiter in 2nd. lol 6500rpms meens 6500rpms. lol Holy cow!!!

best times i have gone in the 1/8 are 8.90's, thats with my mods in my sig, on the stock pirellis, hell black06ss has gone 8.80's with his intense and catback on street tires.

mines better- what was your 60 foot on that time, as well as 330, i just want to know so i can see how big of a factor the air was or if you just had a badass launch, either way great job
