Crappy 1/4 times

Well my first time out to the strip and the car honestly ran like ****. my best run of the night was a 2.2 60ft running 15.1 @ 92. 92mph? wtf is that? I dont know if it was too humid or what but 92mph trap speed is not what i expected. Every run, of like 10, except the one mentioned above was a 93mph trap speed with times from 15.2-15.5 depending on the launch. 60fts ranged from 2.2-2.4. Only bogged on the 1-2 upshift once so thats not the problem and I never once hit the 2nd gear redline.

You have decent 60' 's you should have better times.

Maybe not shifting at redline? or possibly need to get quicker with ur shifts?

Just a thought

I didnt feel so bad since I did see a stock PT Cruiser GT beat a modded Evo who was running mid-high 14s. And there was also a 06 GTO there running mid 14s.

Yeah a guy that can do a 2.2 60ft should see atleast 14.6 with proper shifting. You just picked the wrong day or your elevation is too high. More practice! Ive seen much worst.

Its not the shifting I can assure you that. I dont think it gets much more closer to sea level than where I live. I think the track is only like 500-600ft above sea level

My first time at the track was a few weeks ago. On my first run I got a 15.1, by my last run I was trapping at 98 mph with a 14.6 and 2.3 60ft. I felt I was leaving some on the track because I was only launching at 1.5k rpm. The next time I go I am launching at 2.5 rpm to see if I can get a 14.1

The temperature probably had a lot to do with it. Also you must shift at redline , if you bog the shift that 15.1 is the best you will see.

What were your reaction times ?

Once again, didnt bog the 1-2 upshift and i was shifting at the last second before it would hit the rev limiter. If I launched any harder than 2k i would get bad wheel hop.

On that 15.1 my reaction was .15

The track itself might be ****, you were saying something about evo's and gto's running mid 14's than 15.2 might not be that bad it just might be a slow track. I have seen the left lane be very fast and the right lane be slow as *****.

to be honest 14.8-15.2 is where most of the stock cobalts are running first time out.

these cars are pretty picky. Id say give it some seat time and some better conditions and youll see those numbers drop.

the people running low 14s arent doing it first time out.

What octane of gas were you running? If you were running 87 that could be it right there.
