Doing something wrong here?

Had a few questions about some times that I got at the track.

Car: 2.2l manual coupe, with Injen SRI, Magnaflow custom exhaust, DC Sports strut bar, Eibach Sportline springs

Q1: What am I doing wrong when I'm having a 2.2 60' time but only ending up with a 15.9 et? *not putting down others, but according to this, I have a damn good 60' time. The car is a bit on the heavy side with 2 12" subs, box, and an amp...but I don't see that affecting top end. Any ideas?

Q2: Along with the 60' times, sometimes i'll have a 60' of 2.4 and have a trap speed of 88mph but when I do the 2.2 60' I'm getting trap speeds of 86mph.

Here are two examples of time slips so you can see the whole run:

*NOTE, both runs were on the same day*

Time slip 1: 2.4 60' with 88mph trap

R/T: .500
60': 2.438
330: 6.968
1/8: 10.656
MPH: 69.38
1000: 13.828
1/4: 16.489
MPH: 88.14

Time slip 2: 2.2 60' with 86mph trap *MY PERSONAL BEST ET*

R/T: .146
60': 2.251
330: 6.624
1/8: 10.219
MPH: 70.27
1000: 13.360
1/4: 15.961
MPH: 86.49

Thanks for any help...

do you have automatic or manual? if you have auto that's a damn good time... not a bad time for manual either, with the extra weight... you can maybe shave a few tenths with more practice, but won't get much more than that with the mods you have listed. maybe you just have your hopes set too high?

Sorry I didn't specifiy that in the first post, the car is a manual. As for setting hopes to high, not at all. I'm extremely pleased with where I'm at, was just wondering why some guys have 15.7 with a 2.45 60' and I'm at where I am. I really didn't think the weight would cause the top end to be like that.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Elevation plays into effect as well. You will get a better time the closer you are to sea level.

maybe just better shifting? more practice? 15.7 in a 2.2 is a really good time with little mods
