Thanks to this car, it looks like I'm going to a NOPI race!

The car, built by Dave Zientara Racecraft in St. Charles, still has the dealership window stickers intact ($14,450 for an '06 Cobalt LS Coupe) and has temporary plates. It uses a T6-boosted 2.2 making it STL's quickest and fastest FWD 4-cylinder by a few miles, too."

I was involved in this build up. If there are any questions on doing something similar please feel free to email me. I was wondering if somebody could help us locate a lightweight carbon or fiberglass, hood and decklid. We have some on back order and are trying to have these components instaled before a race in Valdosta GA.Any help would be appreciated, we are in st louis currently but can pick them up pretty much anywere between here and the east coast.... thanks in advance Jason

Gravana and RKSport make hoods and deck lids. I know there are others, but those are the big two.

Are you using the Hydramatic 4T65 on that one? I have a custom built 4T45E by IPT transmission for use on the street. I'm considering the purchase of the Hurst ratchet shifter and trim kit for use with it.

Your engine appears to be quite a bit further forward then stock. Custom mounts?

Do you have a list of what all Roush did for your engine? I see they used the LSJ valve cover and the Moroso ignition system. I assume they did the GMPP cylinder head gasket with the modified block deck and ARP studs. I have the ARP studs on a stock gasket. I didn't need to go above the 500HP level.

The engine is placed further because of the 4t65 swap, the mounts are done at roush all the part #'s are in the gm build book, if you need the part #'s, I can look them up.
I am looking for the link to the build book, I know Erica posted a link on another thread.

Our engine runs aftermarket studs and headgasket. The phase 5 cars originally ran arp head studs, or bates engineering, with a stock headgasket. I do not know if they still do but I can find out.. The ignition is msd cap and rotor distributor assembly, topped off with msd plug wires, digital 7 ignition and hvc coil.

Yep! That balt was fast as hell! You guys kept a steady 9.5's the whole weekend pretty much. And thanks again for the GM build book!

I will say that cobalts definatly owned the tracks this weekened. The dragsters were running' low-mid 7's, only thing that could come close to em' were the drag bikes. Lots of fun. I'll be posting pictures of everything in the morning.

BTW, Awesome job to the yellow SS/SC with carbon fiber hood. (Flordia) Did you get any awards?
