Few questons for Drag Racing

Can i run 100 Octain( or higher) in my 09 ss fine with out anything happening

if i remove the air filter just for the passes will it help at all or will the computer see the little bit of more air comming in and do something about it. i know not the smartest thing but want a litle extra hp.

and whats a good rpm to launch at. right now i still have my new blizakts(sp) winter tires on cuz i just havent had time to take them off.

yes im stock still

you would gain more by taking off the winter tires then running 100 octane.

at some point your car wont burn the extra fuel and wont gain the hp.

my point is the 8-10hp isnt as vidle as putting the correct tires on your car.

you dont want to take your air filter off, it protects vital engine components from debris on the road...imagine if a stone got sucked in there...ud be screwed...and anytime you mess with the air intake your fuel trims will change...

as far as running 100 octane it wont make a difference if you're not tuned for it, you'll notice a difference if you're using very shitty gas as your car will push the maximum timing in the stock tune which isnt that much stock to begin with

I launch around 2500 but don't dump the clutch, feather it a little bit to help with traction.
