First time at the drag strip today

So I'm heading to the drag strip today for the first time in my 09 SS. I've only ever raced in my LS so if there are any fellow LNF'ers that can offer a word of advice that'd be great!
Would using Lauch Control be advisable?
Wish me luck!

wow no offense but those times suck. why were you worried about r/t?? thats why your times are so slow. don't even worry about when the green light comes on untill you get the hang of launching it. just go when you're ready. going to the drag strip doesn't mean you HAVE to race the person next to you.

You're supposed to suck the first time out

Just get back out there and keep practicing. Most bullshitters on here never even get on the strip, yet talk **** (im NOT calling anyone out in this thread, so simmer down kiddos)...just sayin.

Well the shitty thing is the track is about 85 miles away from me and its not open every weekend so I its not exactly easy access. But I will, I know I'm supposed to suck the first time out, there was a guy in a HHR SS out too running mid 9s I know I should have been around his times but looks like he's been runnin it for a while. Oh well, chalk it up to experience I guess.

I get to go to the track for the first time in the SS/TC on the 21st, i'm pretty excited haha, I'm use to launching my SS/SC so i'll do some practice runs using that technique and see how it works out before I go. The main thing in Launching/Drag racing is throttle control.

Yikes! You need to settle down on your launches. 2.4-2.5 60ftrs are pretty bad.

Yeah thats definitely a big difference, but it really just takes practice in any car to get your launch perfect. So don't worry about a couple bad runs, you'll get it right soon enough

Yeah i say drivers mod lol, i mean my sc ran a 8.9 with a tune and meth, street tires. not smaller pulley or clutch or anything else, because i left ad idel i didnt launch i was easy on the foot, i turned boost to 50% in first gear and so forth. so be easier with it next time, dont try to kill it.

if something breaks and you go in and say you were at the track and it broke. they won't cover it. but just racing in itself won't void it.

Yeah thats what I thought, he's old school so maybe thats how the rules were back then. If something broke at the track I wouldnt have said I was at the track, thats plain silly.
