First time at the drage strip!

As the title says tonight was my first time racing at the drag strip. I'm satisfied with my last two times. I was very nervous my first time.

Anyhow, here is the info:

Run 1)
RT .43
60' 2.85
1/4 16.876
MPH 85.7

Run 2)
RT .626
60' 2.35
1/4 15.440
MPH 90.43

Run 3)
RT .43
60' 2.52
1/4 15.722
MPH 89.3

So how do you guys think I did?

No one?

Get those 60's down... and I'm assuming your a 2.4 which those aren't bad for your first time... hell I have seen S/C cars that slow their first times.

Well, they're not super quick to tell the truth. Are you LSJ or LE5?

Yep I'm a 2.4, and I'm not really sure what will get my 60' times down other than getting off the line faster.

I'll have to go back next week and work on them.

I'll have to get some later on. Probably wouldn't make much of a difference until I'm turbo'd.

It was somewhat embarrassing cause I was the third slowest car there.

Well what PSI were you running? What were you launching at? Did you only run 3 times? dragging is a skill, you really have to know your car to extract every tenth.

on street tires, getting a low 60ft is damn hard. Best ive managed (not with this car), was a 2.111, which is damn impressive for a FWD car on stock street tires (all seasons at that lol)

I'm not turbo yet, still na. I'm not quite sure but I would say around 2500-3000. Yep 3 times.

Your MPH is not strong enough to get you solidly into the 14s. With a sick ass launch, 2.1 60ft, and hit every gear perfect, you MIGHT hit a 14.9999 lol. Low 15s is there though. 15.2 all day long with a 15.1 easy to hit.

You want embarrassing, I had installed the exedy hypersingle in my car and still wasn't use to it. So I stalled at the light. Not to mention it was only my 2nd time at the track and I was also nervous. Oh, then missing 2nd gear cause the roll pin was broke in two.

The psi reference was to your tire pressure, not the turbo we know you don't have.try 20 on street tires.

which was? you want to lower your pressure in the front tires at the drag strip for better traction...

don't laugh at a 2.1 60', I have a LNF and that was my best 60' on stock tires... but I did trap 87mph through the 1/8th, lol

Good times, you can get them down though. My 2.4 stock ran a 15.6 at my second time at the track. I got a 2.2 60' on the stock tires.

Hoping for better this year once im tuned. Low 15's FTW

That's good for your first time. Hell, my buddy's first time in his Jetta VR6, he went in reverse at the light. Talk about embarrassing.
