First time at the track

My very first time on the track was friday and I met my goal of the night! I ran about seven times and my driver mod (IMO) sucks but I am running a CAI and Cat-back exhaust and ran a 14.946 @ 96 MPH. My goal was to get it in the 14's. my second best run was a 15.223 @ 95 MPH.

What do you all run on almost stock set-ups like mine???

a good driver would do low 14's. most do mid 14's

generally with cars, its best to get a grip on them stock before you start modding... if you can't get 215whp to the ground, how do you expect to get 230+???

think about it for a second

ya practice is hard when you live in a big college town and there is only one drag strip that is 30 minutes away. lol. 15$ a week to practice gets kinda pricy after a few weeks.

understandable. i have been dragracing 12 years now and these cars give me fits on the launch. best 60' in 2 years on street tires has been a 2.19.

Everybody justs posts their times like it supposed to be the same everywhere -- and stating 60 ft times are making the difference. The track's Altitude and local air temperature have a HECK of a lot to do with the differences too!!!! Someone running on a 3000' high track @ 95 degrees will NOT get times close to someone running at sea level @ 60 degrees!!!

just went to the track today, my first time ever going and ive only had the car(05 ss/sc) for 6 months, i only have an intake. was running on my all season tires =(. got 5 runs in before the rain came some times:

1. i forgot to get my slip but i ran a 15.2 don't kno whatt speed

2. 60ft-2.499, 1/4-14.945@98

3. 60ft-2.428, 1/4-15.364@95 <-- worst time

4. 60ft-2.393, 1/4-14.502@100

5. 60ft-2.303, 1/4-14.297@98 <-- best time

if i could have ran a few more times i may have done a bit better but that last run was near perfect start and shifting for me at least. like i said ive never ran the car at the track or from a dig on the streets so i went in not know how to launch or anything. overall it was a blast and i think i did ok.
