First time at the track, 14.3
Headed up to the track for the first time today. Got lots of pictures and some videos (see here). I managed to trap a 14.3 twice today. I'm still completely stock, but not for too long. I did so much better then I thought I was going to. I can't wait for next month. I plan on having a lot of stuff done before the Michigan Meet May 13th. Hopefully Intake, Exhaust, GM Stage 1, and a 2.9 pulley. I want to get a dyno before I do anything though, get a baseline. Anyways, I think this thread is useless without slips, so here they are. I'm 209

and my best here

Great runs! Be sure to keep going and practicing! Just a suggestion, you'll drop your times considerably with JBP bushings, mounts (tranny/engine, or both), and DR's. Traction/wheelhop will only get worse as you add power if you don't do suspension mods as well. Take care.

I believe the top slip was agains the LS that went with us, roccityroller. He ended up doing pretty well with the 2.2. My best one, I forget who I was up against. That was after we finished lunch, and I headed out again.
I was there too. My buddy had the red redline. I didnt take my ls up there today cuz i can only drive for work and school cuz of a little speed problem that resulted in a restricted license. Hopefully will get the full thing in may but may be pushed back til august. Anyways it was a good time up there he managed to get 15.1 and i saw that nice run for the 14.3 nice stuff. Hope to see ya at some other meets. OBTW my name is Brandon if you were wondering who i was

Was there a guy up there with an 04 GT Stang that was auto? Reason I ask is because on the Mustang Forums, he said he wanted some Cobalt owners to go up there and race him so he could show Cobalt people how slow the Cobalts are. He said he was willing to put $500 on it.
Thats what he said...
If any of these Cobalt SS owners that talk shiasta on here live anywhere near Milan dragway I'm going to be there this sunday... and if you want to just say the word because I'll make sure I'll come with 500 extra dollars, because I'm that sure a cobalt SS won't keep pace, and I want to stop this jibber jabber once and for all... so if you are absolutely sure you guys are doing like uber flash gorden 9's or whatever you claimed in the 1/4 mile, I'm not... Please, I beg you, help me change my mind by bringing your half and racing my automatic 04 GT with just those few mod's down there... probably not even in the 13's yet... but my 500 bucks still stands....

More proof that a stock '06 is a little faster than a stock '05 - let's face the facts. Most stock '06's have better track AND dyno numbers STOCK!! Nice runs BTW!!!

are there any known differences between the 2 years that would cause this? 14.3 is a really good time with only a 2.3 60'. hell, if this guy does the suspension mods to stop wheel hop and gets DRs, he could hit 13s with a 2.0 60' with no engine mods.

Yeah, i thought a lot of people already knew that.. 06's are running a tad bit leaner then the 05s thus they make more power stock. But the 05s should be able to be modded slightly more then 06s stock thus because of running richer. But of coarse getting the stage kits reflash put you up all to the same level.

How can you say that when him and I ran the extact same times?
Same car, same ecu/pcm, different year.

I might have exhaust and intake but if you minus his 60'fter another .1 off and the fact when he did that run he took out his front seat and spare/jack and any other non-essential crap it's the same run...

i don't want to believe the 06's are faster, either
