First time at the track

Ive raced alot of cars but this cobalt is HARD! Big thanks to Stewart for the launching tips. My buddies G/F kept beggin to ride so i let her on the last two runs Heres my runs

1st
60ft-2.46
330ft-6.64
1/8th-10.01@ 73mph
1000 ft-12.72@ 83mph
rolled off the line easy bumped rev limiter from 1st to 2nd pretty much a sucky run

2nd
60ft-2.39
330ft-6.68
1/8th-10.11@ 72mph
1000 ft-12.87@ 83mph
pretty much same as 1st run but with a passenger, I wanted to hit my self in the head with a hammer at this point.

3rd
60ft-2.25
330ft-6.34
1/8th-9.89@ 63mph
1000 ft-13.42@ 58mph
I launched at around 2300 but missed 3rd before the 1/8th so i think i had a fair run going until that plus i still had a passenger

Im really sure i can get this car into the lower 12s and maybe some high 11s if i can get rid of my passengers and have a nearly perfect run. I havent raced my Monte Carlo in about a year and thats the last time ive been on the drag strip. My best time with it was 10.34 @98mph.

Anybody have any advise on racing, I cant really bang 2nd for fear of breaking the car. How much does the B&M shifter help with shifting?? Does the damper help alot??

Thanks Jerm

well i ran the time in my sig with a 9.2 1/8th mile and my 1000ft was 12.1 i think. You can do better just lose the passenger and practice launching. Thats the main key in this car. Damn wheel hop!
