First time at track

Well, I finally got around to taking my car to the track today. Nice day, about 60* out, but traction was lacking - many people were having problems hooking up. Anyway, here's my slip from my first run (which also happened to be the best of my 3). I have GM Stage 2 and an Ingalls ETD.

R/T: .400

60': 2.307

330: 6.155

1/8: 9.199
MPH: 80.84

1000: 11.832

1/4: 14.038
MPH: 102.52

Like I said, traction was bad - I've had better traction messing around on the street. I got considerable wheelhop on the 1-2 shift, despite the Ingalls set at 10.5 (I *never* hop the 1-2 on the street). Oh well, with some better traction and some driver improvement, I see 13's easily on just Stage 2. So, for all you guys thinking about GM Stage 2, this is what you can expect, even better if you can actually drive

Nice job! Practice, practice, practice. I highly recommend the INTENSE suspension package, combining tranny mounts with control arm bushings should fix all of your wheelhop issues.

Talking

Very nice time , and I hope I can come somewhere close to you the next time out but my first time running at the track w/ a manual sucked. I see you didn't have that problem though...Sorry I couldn't show up, would have been nice to have two 'balts running down the track.

I'll be looking to try to get out there sometime next week hopefully...

Thanks guys,

Bad06SS - thanks for the tips on eliminating the wheelhop. Sounds liek a good idea, but I can't justify spending any more money on the car right now - speaking of which, how much does that Intense suspension package run?

Zed - yeah, we'll have to meet up sometime and see if we can get some more 'Balts out there. I wonder if the Friday night or the Sunday afternoon will work better for most people...

Yeah, I'll probably end up owing this year, too. So, I won't be buying anything for the car soon
