First Time at the track

I had my first experience running at the track last night. It was an 1/8 miler. Man was I nervous! That first run I wasn't even ready to go when the tree hit green. My RT was horrible. I ran a 12 and got beat by a real POS (go ahead an laugh lol). I FLOORED it in first and the wheel hop came like crazy. I also FORGOT to let off the clutch all the way when I was shifting into second, so it was partially engaged. Burned the hell out of it. If you watch the vid you can see the smoke.
The second pass I did a lot better. Each time I improved by about a second or more. The final pass I didn't get on video, but it was my best.
I think what's hurting the most is finding the right RPM to launch at. I tried 1500 and spun; tried no launching and that was too weak. I have to find that sweet spot because I was slow as hell off the line. Plus I can't afford new axles!

Here is what I ran, don't forget this was my first time driving at the track and my first stick ever:
Time 9.6, speed 76 MPH, 60Ft 2.4, R/T: 0.66

I would post the videos on Youtube but i'd be afraid someone would see them and shame the s/c name. I'll link the last run here. The gf was dissing my driving skills in the first one and talking about the clutch. I'll save that humiliation lol.

Here's a random video from the evening. A civic SI getting beat by a lifted chevy 2500.
