Angry First track = Fail

I tell you, I am an experienced rear wheel drive launcher at the track but today was the first time with the balt. I practiced all day on the street and had it down, but unbeknowance (how ever u spell it) none of that would help at the track....I dont see how it is possible to get below a 2.3, 2.5 with the sc and no traction mods. I wheel hopped into second gear, when second came the car still wheel hopped for a second and then finally caught. Screw my times, they dont matter. I just need to go to the track and practice launching. Didnt get below a 14.8 at 100mph with a 2.7, yea i know...2.7 60ft. I was the first car on the track and it gripped like hell. My mods I should be well into the 13's. Time for some stage 2 rotated mounts. I tell you, launching this thing must have been one of the hardest things I have ever done. I can launch it on street, i hear interceptors are pretty acurate, so i went to the flattest straight away I could find and pulled a 13.2 at 109. Dont know how accurate that is but I def hooked great on the street.
On a good note, White ss/tc ran 13.2 at his best. Said he had an LSJ tranny in because he blew his. Seemed like a real good guy, easy to talk to. I believe it was

FWD launches great right AT 2000rpms, it's just enough to rip it out of the hole and not cause the hop you experienced, see your trying to balance the power shifting the weight off the front to the back only to have it slingshotted back to the front causing hop, that first ten feet can ruin a launch. Ignore this if your on drag radials, have solid mounts, did the inflate=a=football=in=your=rear=springs=mod (which is stupid, flame me) in which case you need to balance spin and take 1st only high enough to use as much of second as possible. The rest of course is cake, since your an SC, feel free to ride it hard all the way to the last 150rpm before your rev limiter.

Good luck next time!

With that mph I don't know about "deep in the 13s" a lucky really high 13. Not trying to burst your bubble, just practice more.

I second the motion with launching at around 2k. If i try and launch any higer i spin a little to much.

Definitely launch at about 2K RPM. Then roll off the clutch in a smooth motion. Once you have smooth transition from clutch to WOT you'll have no issues with getting 2.0 60' times. My SS/SC only had a torque damper for a traction mod and I had no issues getting 2.0's with the stock tires

I said the exact same thing when i went to the track last friday for the first time lol. Practised all day then when it came time it all went out the window. A perfect launch is tough. If i launch my car at 2000rpm i will roast the tires at the track. I found around 1500rpm to work the best. But at our track they make you run out of the grooves if you're on street tires so you get no traction at all. The interceptor gauge is bullshit for 1/4 mile times. It can't compensate for wheel spin. Mine said 13.4@109mph. Went to the track and my best was 14.0@103. But my 60ft was 2.3. Going back with rotated trans mounts and drag radials next time to cut down that 60ft.
