GC 2.0t vs 08 SS/TC

I am just wondering if anyone has raced one of those chopstick genesis coupes yet. If it was tuned or not.

an ss tc should handle one of them pretty well. from wut i saw they lay down 180 - 190whp stock.tuned idk, but if u look at where a tuned ss/tc is, id think it would be no contest.

i blew the doors off the 3.8 one. we went from like a 30 roll. they are just slow period. i am on gencoupe.com and they think that they are so fast.

Agreed. Even though they're slow I still really like them haha.

The 2.0T is even slower. A stock SS/SC would pull a stock 2.0T. Go look at their drag times lol.

The 2.0's are pretty slow, stock for stock they trap over 10 miles an hour slower than an ss cobalt.

There are turbo upgrade kits for em. But from what I have gathered the rods don't like much more than 350whp

it's a brand new car. give it 3 years or so and they'll probably have a huge aftermarket to make them quick. plus they're rwd, so even if they aren't super fast, they can be good for drifting.

It already has a aftermarket bigger than the cobalts. Its a great car. I just don't know what they were thinking with the motor.

Well the 2.0T is a de-tuned 4B11 the same motor that in the new evo X so thats a huge reason for there support. The V6 from what i hear has little to nothing for it besides bolt ons.

i raced one on the interstate leaving an autocross one night...i had intake downpipe and charge pipe but no tune yet, i raced a v6 genesis coupe at about 45mph through somewhere between 80-90MPH and put around 1.5 to 2 cars on him, he may have been modded he had hid's , debadged, and huge rear wheels with a big lip...it was a very clean car but couldnt hold up... i gave him the jump also

That is about right(on the v6). If I was buying one it would be the 2.0T. Although its supposed to be a detuned evo x motor it is "detuned" to such a degree its not even comparable.

Well it is the same theta II block and they do designate it the 4b11 even though the internals, head, valvetrain, turbo system, and many other things are differant.

Sort of like if you take an LSJ change all the internals, put on an aftermarket head, change the forced induction system. Its still technically an LSJ even though it bears little resemblence to what it started as. It started as a 4b11 block even if hyundai changed 100 things on it.

It is not designated a 4B11 to my knowledge.

They actually do not say it is a 4B11, but what they do say is still wrong.

the Genesis’ 2-liter, four-cylinder engine is virtually identical to the 4B11 found in the EVO X.
