gmpp is track proven now

last night stu and myself went to the track and we ran the best times for us yet. the day started off shitty by some idiot nailing one of the power lines and killing power for 2 hours so we just were racing without times for the hell of it. once power was fixed i surprised even myself. ill let him post his own, but here is mine with only GMPP exhaust and a slowly improving driver mod. the day was gorgeous too. we will get a vid up when i get it from my friend. my car # is 9041 hope you enjoy. this time is improved from a best of 11.99. this run was against stu but this wasnt his best time of the day. by the way he is still stock. and a much better driver than me.

good stuff. I was beginging to think the GMMP exhaust had no hp gain. I can get it for less then half the price of Corsa.

yeah we were speechless when we saw that 11.74 on the slip. most likely a 13.XX run in the quarter with the trap speed he was hitting. my best run of the day was an 11.85 at 89.80, which is about a 14.0-14.1 quarter, essentially bone stock

I'll be at your car show, just let me know ahead of time so I can buy a new chin spoiler. Did you hear me grind the F'k out of 3rd on that last run? I was pissed. Still ran a 12.07, but it wouldve been an 11.4x at least. (beat jason anyway, he got a big fat RED LT on his slip) I brought the driver stage -2 mod yesterday.

Glad you guys were running good though Oh, and dont sell yourself short, Im sure the exhaust helped, but give yourself some credit too. I dropped .5 off my ET by just going to the track and practicing. Im sure with some more track time theres an 11.65 in that car as it is.

I'm not a expert here but your 1/8 mile is 9.21 and the 1000 foot is 11.74, I'm think if you get lucky you might hit a 14.3. I've ran a 9.15 1/8 mile on a 14.3 pass, not in a Cobalt tho.

Were do you get a 13 second pass from? Just asking

After reading dat, I see.

It looks like a trap of 99-101 will get you 13's.

IMHO...it'll be close, not quite sure if those will make it.

edit...I had previously that the 60' times needed working on...although I looked at the wrong side...I still think it'll be close and it'll have to be cooler out.

it was in the high 50's to low 60's and the track was hooking better than it ever has since i started going, im starting to see that my kumhos do not hook as well as the stock pirellis

no i totally agree man, but here it seems like as long the sun i out and its around 50 or 60 degrees then the track is ideal, know what i mean?

oh yea....ask Adam and Kritter...we saw first hand what a 30 degree difference does...I dropped .2 and 7 mph...the track prep was different too...much better at the first place we went....
I bet if you guys go to a 1/4 mile track you'll be close to it...I'm impressed everyday with these cars...hell, Adam pulled a 14.2 @ 102 with only an intake...I am suprised more haven't gotten in the 13's yet...we just need to learn how to drive them first

Great day guys Its nice to see more people getting times outa these cars . Both my 13.96 and my 13.95 pass , my 1000 ft ET's were 11.73 and 11.75 , so you were right in the 13 sec zone black06ss . All my 11.80's 1000 ft = 14.0's , so Stu coulda theoretically bagged a 13 sec ET too .

what didnt you know SilverSS/SC???? It is impossible to run anything better than a 14.2 in a stock cobalt!!! DUH!

JUST ******* KIDDING, black06ss and myself have been trying to tell people for several months now that 13's are attainable in a stock, or very very close to stock (me) cobalt ss. everyone doubted us and called bs, and yet you do it with very little mods, black06ss looks like he would have done it with the extra 320 feet, and i possibly could have with the extra 320 feet. you are one of my new fav's on this site, peace bro!

I don't think the GMPP exhaust helped you much. Look at your trap speed from stock to the GMPP exhaust it's identical or up.5mph. The MPH is where it shows the gain. What was your 60' time stock on your best run compared to the new best time with the GMPP exhaust?

Now if say you went from 89mph to a consistant 91mph trap I would say the exhaust helped a lot with performance. You could have just picked p low end power and lost/have the same top end do to the smaller diameter piping.

You gained .7 tenths of a mph with the exhaust! That could have been weather or shift related???

Sorry, not enough valid data to support any gains from the exhaust.

But if your happy, thats all that matters

Stu, we all need to pick a day or two and head to Memphis or Tulsa for a test n tune night and hit the 1/4. Ive got some punk bitch using an internet 1/8 to 1/4 conversion calculator telling me I'll run a 13.9 at best. I wanna bring back a 13.69 or better slip and throw that **** in his face.
