Thumbs up Is this good?

So i'm coming from work today & I decided to go down the 1 road by my house that nobody uses so I decided to use the interceptor gauge for the 1/4 mile. (Its a flat road with no curves or hills.) So I go for run #1 & got a 14.15 @103mph w/ no wheel spin. I thought to myself with all the mods I've done I CAN do better. I need to shift faster. Much faster. So I drive slowly at the actual speed limit of 40mph to let the clutch cool off & I'm back to where I started. Run #2 went ok. I got a 13.85 @ 106mph with some wheel spin. I know that throws the the gauge off a little but I still was not fully satisfied so I went on run #3. With my head now in racing mode & only looking at the road in front of me I took off with barely nothing if ANY wheel spin. I shifted from 1st to 2nd extremly fast & at the perfect time. 2nd to 3rd it was completly floored. same with 3rd to 4th. I got 13.45 @ 107mph. Anyways I got home and thought about my excitment for the day & was thinking

Wow. I got that good of a time having me be about 100lbs overweight (I weigh 244lbs you do the math). And I also have 2 Solo-baric L5's in 1 box with a 1600 watt amp 3.0 farad cap & 25 lb box of random **** in my trunk, but the thing that kills me is I am still on my stock clutch & flywheel. I just received my spec stage 3 clutch & fidanza flywheel thru the mail today & haven't even installed them yet & this is the times I'm getting without them + 175 extra lbs.

Anyways my friend got a 2003 Mustang GT but hes getting a 4:10 rear end with flowmaster exhaust & my other friend has got a caddy seville w/ the northstar v8 & we're going up to are each putting up $100 at the dragstrip. Think I'll win
My mods are:
GM stage 2 w/ 2.8" pulley
Injen CAI
XTC downpipe
Cat eliminated
Pacesetter 2.5" exhaust

Putting on tommorow:
Spec Stage 3 clutch
Fidanza 8.5lb flywheel

Any commnts are welcome.

hope you brought your wallet.

those times will no tbe the same at the track. traction is way different, and the light makes a difference. it's not just you leaving it has to do with reaction time and 60 fts too. RWD will own you at the light

I'm sorry this may sound like a dumb Q but how much will the 4:10 rear end add in hp.

Reaction time doesn't matter in a regular 1/4 mile race. Once you leave the line is when the time starts. I watched an older lady literally sit at the light for 6 seconds and still run a low 13 second 1/4 mile. Reaction time matters in bracket racing sometimes though

It's not about horsepower, It doesn't add horsepower. It's more for performance.
That gearing is more for quarter mile runs.

It doesn't necessarily add hp, but it will make him more of a beast off the line then let's say at 80mph...

Yeah, I don't think the Caddy will be a problem, but the Mustang with gears could very well beat you.

What if he doesn't get the gears & just buys the flowmasters ex. Think he'll still get me then?

I have owned 3 mustangs to 5.0 with 410 gears and man do they pull hard. But if you can get boost quickly without a lot of wheel spin which is the worst thing about our cars I think you can get him. I have about the same moods you do and I would say my cobalt would give my stangs a good ride for the money especially from a roll but obviously thats not the case. Stock 5.0 runs in the 14's now the new 4.6 may be a bit faster but I dont know. My old stangs would run in the 12's my cobalt will not run that but from a 30mph roll off I think the balt is right there.
